AGEx Letter!
Dear AGEx Creator,
So hi, dearest creator. I’m so glad you’re writing/drawing for me! Age gaps are everything I love and you can't go wrong with them, so sit back and relax, and please don't be frightened by this long-ish letter. I'm sure I'll love whatever you create for me!
If you want to know more about me , I’m The_Wavesinger,
the-wavesinger and The Wavesinger (Silmarillion Writers’ Guild) on my fannish haunts. You can also find me here on DW, and as
the_wavesinger on LJ, but I don’t frequent those places often. I If you want more on my fic preferences (however unlikely that is, after this very long letter!), my fic rec tag on Tumblr and my AO3 bookmarks may be of some use, and for art, my art and fan art tags on Tumblr may be of some use You may also want to poke through my previous exchange letters.
This letter has a list of DNWs and general likes, and also fandom-specific prompts. However, please don't feel obliged to stick to my prompts—as long as you don't include my DNWs, I'm sure I'll love whatever you like.
The sections for some relationships are longer than others, but this is not because I want the longer relationships more than the shorter ones, it's just that for some relationships, I like very specific things, while, for others, I'd love basically anything.
DNWs:
- Gore/guro/vore.
- Necrophilia.
- Torture of animals. (Humans/humanoids/other sapients being tortured is more than fine!)
- Graphic descriptions of nausea/vomiting.
- Reader inserts.
- Mundane AUs.
- Unrequested depowered/non-powered AUs.
- Non-femslash A/B/O; femslash for this trope is fine!
- Crossovers/fusions between fandoms I haven't asked for. (Crossover within any fandom in my letter or previous exchange letters, along with mythology and folklore, are more than fine!)
- AUs with modern settings are no-no’s unless there’s a reasonable canon explanation (eg-: Tolkien, people cursed to be reborn again and again into mortal forms). Even then, please no high school or coffee shop AUs.
- Please no age regression, de-ageing, or AUs in which one character is suddenly older than a previously older-than-them character (ageswap?).
- Girl!penis. (Trans characters are fine, just please no inexplicable g!p.)
- For smut, I'd prefer not to see bloodplay, scat, watersports, age play (including daddy/mommy kink), and any sort of permanent marking/scarring/body modification (scarring and permanent markings outside smut is perfectly fine) unless I've prompted these things for the specific pairing.
- H/C fics centering on characters with depression and/or anxiety, and/or characters who self-harm or have eating disorders are not my favourite thing. (All of these things are more than fine in non-H/C fic, but not as things which can be hugged/cuddled better, please.)
- Genderswap which makes F/F or M/M canon pairings or F/F or M/M pairings I've requested F/M.
- Unrequested relationships as the main focus of a fic (side pairings/non-endgame relationships are fine).
- Unrequested parent/child incest.
- Smut for underage relationships unless otherwise requested.
- Extreme underage (pre-pubertal children) unless otherwise requested.
- Anachronistic discussions of sexuality and/or characters lecturing other characters on SJ issues.
General Likes:
Tropes, Genres, and (for fic) Story Elements
- Angst. Drama. Politics. Tragedy.
- Philosophical ponderings!
- I love canon divergence AUs, and For Want Of A Nail and other what-if scenarios. I'd love both longer fic (for fic) and art/ficlets as snapshots of what could have been, all the things that could've happened, but didn't.
- Soulmates! Not necessarily soulmate AUs (although that'd be more than fine), but soulmates as in 'I knew you the moment I saw you', or 'I felt you in my soul' or any other version of that—the electric connection is something I adore. Soulmate things I love include in every version of every reality, in another life, fated to be separated again and again.
- Regency AUs.
- Fake dating within the canon setting.
- Arranged marriage within the canon setting.
- Time travel and time loops, especially timefuckery where everything is fucked up!
- (For femslash only) A/B/O
- In-world mythology.
- Cultural differences and clashes that occur due to cultural differences.
- Worldbuilding in general.
- Battle couples!
- Lovers to enemies.
- Enemies to lovers.
- Trope subversions.
- I have A Thing for sister/sister, and focusing on the sister aspects of the relationship—how they're alike and how they're different, and just how they're sisters.
- Competence porn!
- I also adore people being messes and general failboats, because, uh, contradictions?
- I have zero problems with fics dealing with misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, racism etc. I like realism, but not overly-depressing fics or fics centered on issues at the expense of characterization. (I define 'overly-depressing' as continuous angst focusing on Issues and Only Issues.)
- All the things that could've happened, but didn't.
Tone, Setting, and Miscellaneous Things
- Characters dancing and spending time outdoors.
- Characters in situations that shouldn't be funny, but are.
- Characters who're comfortable around each other, and who tease and laugh with each other.
- Slice-of-life fics and, for relationships, a look at all the quirks/annoyances of cohabitation.
- Banter! I feel like I've repeated this a million times in this letter, but I adore banter!
- Casual situations and everyday annoyances
- Characters playing pranks on each other.
- Generally over-the-top things played straight.
- Drama interspersed with humor.
- Characters sleeping on each other, making out for hours, drinking from the same cup, and generally being adorable!
- Characters solving mysteries and going on journeys together!
- Bittersweetness.
- All the hard questions with no answers, characters trapped in unsolvable dilemmas, loss and grief and moving on.
- Gallows humour, and humour in otherwise dark situations generally.
- And just humour in general.
- And if you want to go in the crack-y direction, I wouldn't mind that as well!
- I adore OFCs and textual ghosts, for many, many reasons.
- I'm more than fine with most side relationships, unless stated otherwise.
- Genderbending! I always love Rule 63'd characters.
- Open relationships! Threesomes! Moresomes! Orgies!
- Transgender characters would be amazing, as would non-binary characters and just fucking with and/or ignoring traditional gender roles in general.
Character and Relationships Dynamics.
- Characters who and relationships which fall just short of the mark, the almost-most-not-quite. I think the closest word to this would be hamartia in its original sense?
- Hurt, and not necessarily comfort.
- Fucked-up families and messy friendships which really, really aren't good for the characters, but they love each other very much anyway. I don't mind either characters finding ways to move past the fucked-upness and the relationships end up flourishing, or moving past fucked-up-ness and leaving what they don't want behind, but I also don't mind a constant cycle of messing up.
- Found families!
- Intense friendships which play a central role in the characters' lives.
- For longer works, plotty fics are always welcome!
- Stoic and/or emotionally incompetent characters
- Characters finding ways to come to terms with themselves, with their pasts, and with their loved ones and/or finding their place in the world (think Circle of Life).
- Characters who're broken, characters who're tired, characters who're lost, characters who refuse to be found, characters who're hurt over and over again, characters who never ever win, characters who've given up. And characters who love, characters who give, characters who're selfless and kind even after everything they've been through, characters who give their all and then some more to people they love, characters who never give up, characters who keep on hoping and keep on fighting even beyond the bitter end. And characters who're a mixture of both types.
- I love characters with flaws and unpleasant qualities! Awesome ladies can be awesome and flawed :).
- I like relationships that are fated to end in tragedy, but I also really don't mind a pinch of humor with my angst, if that's your thing.
Stylistic Things for Fic
- I like all kinds of fic, so go wild—linear narrative, flashbacks, epistolary…whatever you think of is lovely, the more daring the better. I especially adore faux-historical documents and faux academia.
- Relatedly, interactive fiction!
- Characters teasing and bantering with each other.
- I don’t mind any type of POV (including second person!). In fact, POV switches and outside POVs on relationships would be lovely.
Smut Likes
- I will always want F/F or M/M smut, even if I haven't explicitly requested it! Femsub is preferred for F/M D/s smut, though I'm down for femdom if that's your thing, too.
- I prefer a balance between sensuality, emotions, and physical sensations. Anything from playful to creepy is more than fine (although there are a few things I'd prefer not to see, as outlined in the kink DNWs).
- Helplessness and humiliation. These are the two main things I love in kinky smut, and everything else derives from there.
- Bantering and laughing during sex is lovely, as is gentleness.
- And banter between the dom and the sub in D/s scenes (which can edge towards slightly cruel on the dom's part!).
- Angry sex/hatesex, smut that gives off vibes of slightly creepy but in a way that can't be pinpointed
- Dubcon and emotional manipulation!
- Explorations of power dynamics. I especially like service submission, and power dynamics based on the characters' titles/positions! (I do confess to having a kink for honorifics and titles!)
- Doms having control over the sub's everyday minutiae (although for short periods of time—24/7/365 high-protocol D/s is a turn-off)
- Punishment play, especially unusual forms of discipline! (I don't like erotic spanking in and of itself, but spanking as punishment is great! And whatever interesting punishments you can come up with.)
- Corner time, especially kneeling on rice/somehow having to display themselves/after a spanking.
- In general, being put on display/having to put themselves on display.
- Tickling! Both playful tickling and tickle torture (bondage + tickling = yessss).
- Gags and other ways to prevent speech. And weirdly specific, but fingers of one character in the other's mouth.
- Groping, especially pulling breasts out of tops (and sometimes letting them just hang there, if you're into humiliation).
- Orgasm denial, especially chastity devices.
- Fuck-or-die scenarios.
- Creative bondage (including predicament bondage. No, strike that, especially predicament bondage, and especially if the predicament is partly psychological).
- Similarly, ordering a partner to stay still/hold a certain pose.
- Incest kink.
- Hairpulling.
- Directed masturbation (one character instructing the other how to masturbate).
- Dirty talk (including long distance dirty talk).
- Navels, inner things, ribs, and kinks for these body parts.
- (Not really a like, but I'm afraid my AO3 bookmarks won't say much about my smut likes, because I have a separate account for smutty bookmarks. Sorry.)
Darker Likes
- Dark places and enchantments which entrap people without their knowledge
- Getting lost in creepy surroundings
- Corruption and decay
- Explorations of the darker side of magic (or its equivalent), especially magic that's considered 'good'.
- Exploration of the supernatural aspects of the canons.
- Nature being eerily alive and dangerous.
- Child soldiers, trauma, and really ugly, messy wars.
- Characters trapped in vicious cycles.
- Characters who think they're 'not good enough' for their partner(s).
- Situations where characters are blackmailed/coerced into doing things they don't want to do.
- Fucked-up families and friendships and relationships; people codependent to the point of almost-insanity, and far beyond anything healthy.
- Looking into messed-up characters' thought processes.
- Terrible things being done in the name of good by characters who see themselves as good.
- Perversion of the 'good' side of magic to do evil things.
- Mindfucks and powerplay.
- Torture for the sake of torture, and characters being stoic through torture.
- Noncon. I like both works focused on sexy (for fic and art purposes) noncon as well as more seriously-dealt with noncon and noncon aftermath.
- Pregnancy due to F/F or M/M noncon.
- Badtouch that doesn't lead to noncon, it's just there and creepy. (Especially when coupled with emotional fuckery and mindgames.)
- Relationships where one characters is in love, but the other isn't.
- Partners doing terrible things to each other.
- Characters who hate themselves and lash out at the world and do fucked-up things as a result.
- Really, really dark stories which end in the 'everyone dying' sort of tragedy.
- AUs where everything goes wrong.
- For darkfic especially, I love outsider PoVs—it makes everything 100% more terrible for me.
Art-Specific Likes and Prompts
- I adore all kinds of jewellery—the more elaborate the better!
- And elaborate hairdos! And elaborate clothes! And elaborate makeup!
- I do, however, also enjoy seeing characters in their workaday attire, doing everyday things.
- Characters with visible height differences from each other!
- Elaborate weapons
- In-universe art. (Famous portraits, posters for events, propaganda/health-and-safety leaflets, handwritten notes, maps etc.)
- In-universe statues and tapestries and architecture
- Court settings with pomp and circumstance or everyday life are both things I enjoy seeing.
- I also enjoy seeing outdoor settings. Lakes, mountains, spooky forests, bustling cities, rivers, tiny hamlets, cottages, forests...
- Specific canon locations (like the Withywindle for Tolkien, the Spirit World for A:tLA etc.)
- Studies in opposites
- Limited palettes
- Non-traditional art mediums would be welcome.
- Characters doing things they love together (I know this sounds very pairing-specific, but I'd lovelovelove this for friends and/or parents and children and/or siblings, too).
- Ceremonies and events (coronations, balls, feasts, weddings etc.)
- Picnics, garden parties, outdoor events, riding, hunting etc.
- Characters arguing or debating with each other.
- Starlight and warm colors and pastels.
- Colour palettes that fit the character (golds and greens for Goldberry in Tolkien, for example, or shades of red for Natasha Romanov in MCU)
- Characters passionate with and about each other and about things they love
- Seasonal settings (falling leaves or snowed-over land or flower-filled meadows or golden fields etc.)
- Characters fighting and having each other's backs, and, for A:TLA, bending!
- Bloodied and bruised characters leaning on each other on on the nearest available upright surface after a hard battle
- Characters facing each other across the battlefield (especially friends-turned-enemies)
- Gift-giving, both literal and metaphorical
- Characters reading or writing
- Characters in libraries/otherwise surrounded by books
- Characters who've fallen asleep (in bed, on a pile of books, sprawled across the sofa, on the floor, on another character—anywhere, any place, any time)
- Characters in meetings/teams seated around tables or in lounges
- For modern-era canons, airports!
- Characters who look messy and/or rumpled and tired and way too fucking busy why is this my life
- Possessive touches (one character having their arm around another, hand at the small of back, cupping another character’s face etc)
- Characters in a private moment.
- Casually intimate gestures, like handholding or hands on shoulders or arms around waists/on shoulders, or just reaching out to adjust the other's clothing
- Kneeling and hand-kissing for pairings where I specify loyalty kink, or for gen or shippy combinations which involve a superior and subordinate in a setting where kneeling would work
- Forehead kissing!
- Kissing and making out, especially making out in bed/in unusual places and/or a significant height difference between characters
- Tickling and playful tussling
- Day-to-day activities (eating, bathing, morning rituals etc.)
- Characters being cheesy or tender or dorky or awkward with each other (or all or some of these!).
- All the smutty things I've indicated in the smut section! For art especially, a visual focus on power difference (standing/kneeling, clothed/unclothed etc.), looking well-fucked and/or humiliated, straining against bondage, decorative bondage.
Genre-Specific Stuff
- Action/Adventure: fight scenes between individuals ◈ big battle scenes ◈ going on quests/missions ◈ fighting bad guys together ◈ period-typical/canon-typical weapons ◈ characters being very very good at fighting/tactics/strategy ◈ strategy and tactics in general ◈ movements of large armies ◈ end-of-the world scenarios ◈ high-stakes battles or missions ◈ covert operations ◈ supernatural elements being involved in the mix in canons with supernatural/magical elements ◈ fighting techniques ◈ plotty missionfic
- Angst: musings on futility □ hopeless situations and things falling apart □ characters' flaws getting the better of them □ battles being lost □ stuck in situations without support □ forced to deceive loved ones □ unhappy endings □ everything that could go wrong going wrong □ (internalized or otherwise) homophobia □ struggles with religion/faith/belief □ ethical/moral dilemmas □ misunderstandings □ feeling unloved □ being forced to hurt loved ones and do other bad things □ having to compromise on their ideals □ Hobson's choice situations □ betrayals of trust □ star-crossed lovers or the platonic version of this □ the world changing and leaving the characters behind □ things being lost to the ravages of time
- in spaaaace ◎ different canon format (eg: musicals –> TV scripts) ◎ tone changes (eg: drama to comedy, tragedy to romance) ◎ crackification ◎ adding magic/supernatural elements to canons ◎ focusing on a different aspect of a story than the canon does
- Established Relationship: arguments and fights ○ vicious cycles ○ drama ○ compromising and learning to live together ○ date nights ○ banter and flirting ○ falling into bed together after a long day ○ characters organizing their lives around each other ○ unhealthy, obsessive relationships ○ smut ○ meeting the family ○ acquiring pets and/or kids and/or property
- Getting Together: meet-cutes (including canon divergence AUs) ◌ angst about each others' feelings ◌ obstacles that have to be overcome ◌ A is convinced B doesn't like them ◌ characters who haven't met in canon meeting for the first time ◌ fake dating leads to real dating ◌ fucking for the greater good ◌ something makes them do it ◌ enemies to lovers ◌ friends to lovers ◌ soulmate AUs ◌ reincarnation AUs ◌ slow burn ◌ hey I just met you this is crazy ◌ one night stands to lovers ◌ angst over not being allowed to be together ◌ A has been hurt by other people in the past and has to slowly fall for B ◌ unrequited love turning requited ◌ A falls for B, who's been nursing a crush on A since forever
- Hurt/Comfort: noncon aftermath ◘ torture aftermath ◘ recovering from an abusive relationship ◘ other kinds of post-abuse trauma ◘ injury aftermath ◘ characters stitching themselves together ◘ partner/other person hurting character and then comforting them ◘ PTSD (in a canon-appropriate way) ◘ contrast between current gentleness and past violence ◘ the comfort not helping with certain instinctual reactions (touch aversion, flinching, hyperawareness, hypersensitivity etc.) ◘ comforter feeling helpless in the face of comfortee's issues ◘ two hurt/fucked-up characters trying to comfort each other ◘ attempts to comfort/make things better backfiring ◘ comfortee refusing to accept comfort
- miscommunication ◍ wanting different things in life ◍ wanting different things from each other ◍ betrayal ◍ lying to friends/partners ◍ arguments ◍ blow-ups that have been a long time coming ◍ deliberate miscontsructions ◍ deliberately hurting each other ◍ unintentionally hurting each other
- Slice of Life: I love seeing glimpses into character's everyday lives in canon-appropriate ways. I love slice-of-life fics as insight into characters' backstories and histories, as well as as looks into their heads and as ways to figure out what's making them tick, or to make it clear that the characters' everyday lives are immensely atypical/fucked up. I also love these kinds of fic as worldbuilding vehicles.
DC Cinematic Universe
Antiope/Diana, Antiope/Diana/Hippolyta, Diana/Hippolyta
These three! I love all three of them and the complicated, tense dynamics between them and also how much they clearly love each other, and how much Antiope and Hippolyta adore and take care of and attempt to forget, so anything to do with that would be great.
I don't mind whether you keep Antiope's death or fix it. On one hand, it was an emotional moment in the film and central to Diana's motivations and lovely and tragic, but on the other, Antiope is dead. So I'd love to see (Hippolyta and) Diana grieving for Antiope, but I'd also love to see a fix-it where Antiope lives.
I love the idea of an all-female band of warriors created specifically to bring peace to the world, so I adore the Amazons (although the pasting-on of some vaguely Hellenic trappings to a basically Judeo-Christian origin story kind of made me LOL). Anything to do with the Amazons would be wonderful!
Themyscira must be self-sustaining because it doesn't have any contact with the outside world, so it must have people other than warriors—farmers, weavers, potters etc. How does that work? Do the warriors do all of the above things, too? Or are there non-combatant Amazons? In which case, what are the attitudes from the warriors towards those non-combatants? And what role do Antiope and/or Hippolyta play in the organization of the everyday minutae of the island?
Something about their origins, maybe? Maybe something about their first battle against Ares and how they fought that? Or maybe something about Antiope and/or Hippolyta being created by Zeus? Or maybe something about the creation of Themyscira and the early days on the island, and the transition from peace to war? Or, does anyone (especially Diana, who has never know anything outside of Themyscira) ever get bored of Themyscira or restless to explore the outside world?.
For any variation on these pairings, I love the loyalty and power differentials at play. Hippolyta is the Queen of the Amazons, and Antiope is her General, and Diana is under the command of both of them; how does that affect their relationshp? There would also be the issue of them being parents/parental figures and having that kind of power over Diana; anything to do with that would be great, too.
I love people having each others' backs in battle, and people in the aftermath of battles, bloodied and bruised and exhausted. And for romantic/sexual relationships, I love battle couples. (Also, I feel like the Amazons would be great for if you want to go in the army of lovers direction.)
I'd love to see Antiope training Diana and Diana hero-worshipping Antiope, or Hippolyta and Diana clashing more as Diana grows older but also getting to know each other as people instead of just in their roles as mother and daughter, and in general the three of them spending time with each other.
Also, the strong hints towards the Amazons having sex with each other a lot are wonderful, and I'd love to see more about these arts of pleasure. Do they try out different instruments, try to hold of orgasming for some time (perhaps using certain devices to prevent self-pleasure), experiment with both rough and gentle sex? Do they invent sex toys? (Is there a whole trade in sex toys?)
With regard to incest, maybe the Amazons don't have an incest taboo? Or I have a huge thing for incest kink and the dirtybadwrong feeling and the shame that comes with it, so maybe they do? Or maybe 'sisters' is more in the sisters-in-arm sense? Or maybe, for the best of all worlds, they had an incest taboo in the beginning, but as time passed and they grew more and more disconnected from the mortal world, the taboo faded? And I do imagine that there would be a different kind of taboo/issues for ships involving Diana, so anything to do with that would also be great.
For art, I love the lush visuals of Themyscira, and I love how different the Amazons are in appearance (and to an extent in combat styles) and from what little we see in personality from each other. I also love the different styles of weapons and body armour. I'd also love to see Antiope and Hippolyta in more casual clothes—Antiope especially is in armour in almost all the instances we see her, and I'd love to see her in more casual attire. Or the armour is also great, because I love the visuals of the armour, and I love seeing them training.
Doctor Who (2005)
- Fandom-specific DNW: anything more than a passing mention of Miracle Day. I.e. Miracle Day-specific characters appearing, or more than one or two lines of a fic referencing Miracle Day.
- My prompts are a lot more general for this section, especially for art, so I’m just going to list a few art things I’d love for this fandom:
- aliens/alien planets and landscapes
- alien flora and fauna
- the Doctor’s Gallifreyan physiology
- the characters having time-travelled to a historical era
- visual depictions of time travel
- the inside and outside of the TARDIS
- the inside of the Hub
- period-style clothing and/or Jack’s coat
- This is Doctor Who, so I’ll always, of course, love timey-wimey stuff and weird and wacky worldbuilding and adventure, just as a side note.
Jack Harkness/The Doctor, Jack Harkness/Twelfth Doctor
Jack/the Doctor is one of those ships I shipped ten years ago, but Thirteen drew me back into Doctor Who and I ended up marathoning my favourite parts of Doctor Who and Torchwood, and now I’m in love all over again. (And I requested Twelve/Jack specifically in part because Jack/the Doctor kind of faded into the background for me before Peter Capaldi’s run, so I never really thought about Jack/Twelve, but now I’m thinking about it, and I want it.)
Jack/Nine, Jack/Ten, Jack/Eleven, Jack/Twelve, Jack/Thirteen, Jack/any future Doctors etc. And Jack/any of the Classic Who Doctors is great too (I’m thinking Jack/Eight, but if you have any other dynamics you want to explore, go for it!). And the other not-quite-Doctors who appear at various points too: Jack/War Doctor, Jack/Ganger!Eleven, Jack/DoctorDonna etc. (And going very very AU is necessary for some of these ships, but that’s great too!)
I love the dynamics between the Doctor and Jack. Nine and Jack’s kind-of flirting is adorable, and I love the whole thing with the Doctor making Jack a better man until he’s willing to die—does die—to rescue others. And also, the part in Boom Town where there’s a little bit of friendly clashing as to who makes the plans! And I also love the whole strained dynamic and the onesidedness and kind of sadness of Jack being left behind and waiting and waiting for the Doctor and then being told that he’s wrong and impossible—I love the angst of that, but also the fact that Jack chooses not to travel with the Doctor in the end. And I love that even though a lot of Jack’s origin and life revolves around the Doctor, the way he lives doesn’t—he’s his own person and has other lives and other loves, and the Doctor is just there. That’s my favourite dynamic for them, actually, the two of them drifting in and out of each other’s lives at specific moments—not actually staying together forever, but always coming back to each other.
Jack’s factness is such an interesting thing! I don’t really believe that he’s actually the Face of Boe, or that even if he is, he can actually die, but I’m very interested in how Jack is a fixed point in time and his immortality, and especially the Doctor’s reaction to that. And I love that the Doctor is older than Jack, but also, Jack is actually immortal while the Doctor isn’t. Anything to do with that, or with the fact that both of them have much longer lifespans than everyone else and will keep losing people, Also, I love that the Doctor is kind of a dick, so the Doctor can totally be a dick if you’re writing fic. And Jack being willing to sacrifice other people to save humanity, and the hard, cruel, distant part of him is interesting to me too (also the hard, cruel, distant, very very powerful part of the Doctor).
Is there any possible point at which Twelve and Jack could meet? (I’d love to see Twelve/Jack post-Zygon Inversion/Zygon Invasion for Twelve and post-Children of Earth for Jack.) I’d love to see an outside POV from Clara or Bill on Twelve and Jack’s relationship (or any of the other companions and any of the other Doctors in this scenario, really). Does the Doctor have to deal with Jack and Missy and/or River meeting each other at some point? What happens during and after the Year That Never Was? (Maybe something to do with the Doctor still caring for the Master? Or maybe the Doctor and Jack kind of grounding each other, but also Jack turning the Doctor’s offer down? Or a non-Ten Doctor and Jack talking about the Master?) Is there any point at which Jack met a past Doctor, and a reason why the Doctor didn’t recognize Jack in 1941? Or does a future Doctor find a past Jack, either before or after Jack met Nine? Or maybe an AU where Miracle Day didn’t happen—what does Jack do post-Children of Earth?
Hamilton – Miranda
- Art-specific prompts, because I have less art prompts for this section:
- Period costumes!
- Alternately, the characters in different settings than canon (this canon is particularly ripe for that sort of re-imagining).
- Moments from the album visualised, because again, this canon is particularly good for that.
- 'Between the scenes' moments.
- Unusual art styles, specifically for this canon because it fits.
- Anything that re-creates the atmosphere of the musical.
- Moments in the musical + just add nakedness.
- This is my newest fandom (I know, I know, how did I not get into Hamilton at some poi t during the last two and a half years? It's a long story) and I am still in the everything has a shiny glow and I LOVE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING stage, so you can't go wrong here. Seriously.
- I'm still very very slowly going through fanworks so forgive me if my prompts are things that everyone has written/drawn at some point and is completely sick of by now.
- I don't mind whatever level of historical accuracy you go with—history what history, kind of sort of accurate, as accurate as you can get within the confines of the show, whatever. (I'm basically finished with Chernow's Hamilton bio and moving on to the Washington one, so.) The only thing I ask is that you keep the things LMM changed.
- Speaking of which, I really love the themes of how history will reflect you and how you're remembered is based on who tells your story that echo through the show.
- For M/M and F/F (this is more fic-specific), I'd love to see period-typical homophobia and the sneaking around and near-discoveries etecetra that would result in.
- For this show especially, I'm a fan of canon divergence AUs, alternate histories etc. Just all the what-if moments, please.
- Also, genderswap! I'm very interested in what'd happen if any of the characters were of the opposite gender. Just please make sure that if you're switching genders for a M/M or F/F ship, you switch the genders of both characters unless I'm explicitly okay with it being otherwise.
- Whatever cast you want to use (current Broadway/OBC/Chicago/West End etc.) to base art/descriptions off is fine! Just not actual historical figures' faces/appearances, please.
Aaron Burr/George Washington
Okay, so the maybe thirty seconds in Right Hand Man are pure gold and, um, yeah. I ship it. Burr's eagerness to get into Washington's good graces! Washington's annoyance with Burr sucking up to him (and the fact that he rarely shows his annoyance but he did at to Burr)! Burr somehow managing to say the exact things which will piss him off! And 'close the door on your way out' following Burr's eager 'sir' is just...ughhhhh I love this pairing so much ♥.
I'd be interested in seeing Washington run into Burr at some point after he dismisses him so thoroughly. Does Burr show his resentment at Hamilton's rise in prominence, and does it anger Washington? Or maybe Washington is angry about a loss and Burr unintentionally aggravates him until he takes out his wrath on Burr, whether that's through words or violence or sex (or all three is good)?
Or maybe an AU where Washington meets Burr earlier? Does he still not like him very much? Or maybe Burr somehow becoming Washington's aid? (And maybe Burr's rivalry with Hamilton annoying Washington?)
Or maybe in Act II, Burr does get his wish to be at the right hand of the father, except not the way he imagined? He imagined himself standing, not on all fours, kneeling. Or any kind of political battle when Burr's Senator that ends in Burr being thoroughly tongue-lashed (and otherwise-lashed) by Washington?
Maybe something playing with how Burr brings out the worst/pettiest part of Washington, if that's your thing? And for art specifically, in addition to the things above, I love how Burr's all stiff and formal while Washington is still majestic as fuck but also less beholden to protocol, as it were, when they're talking, and I love the visual cues which all point to how much Burr is subordinated to Washington and how it's really Washington who's in charge here.
Alexander Hamilton/George Washington
These two. Just—these two. I love their messy, strained dynamic, I love the whole mentor and reluctant mentee thing they have going on, and also Hamilton's utter loyalty to Washington despite rebuffing his attempts at closeness (call me son one more time!), and Washington seeing himself in Hamilton and relying so deeply on Hamilton, and the two of them growing to care for each other very much (and Washington being one of the few people outside Eliza and Angelica and Philip who Hamilton reacts to in a way that's all feelings), and everything about them, really. Especially the small things: Washington standing with Hamilton at his wedding in the musical (and the ItH callback with adjusting Hamilton's clothing like Benny does with Usnavi in 96000 and The Club!), the salutes and Hamilton constantly looking at Washington whenever Washington's in a scene and not undercover (even in A Winter's Ball! Also the fact that Hamilton sticks to Washington even then, until Angelica comes back), the unmiked conversation during Non-Stop from the Hamiltome, both of them but especially Hamilton crying in One Last Time, Washington's look in The Reynolds Pamphlet.
I'd love to see anything about Hamilton's days serving under Washington as his aide. Did Washington scout him from afar and keep an eye on him before Hamilton was asked to be his aide? Or I'd love to see Washington restraining himself because internalized homophobia and rank differences and all the thousand different complication that would affect any potential relationship between them. Maybe a scene where one of them is at the other's bedside when the other is sick/injured? Or maybe Washington and Hamilton working together on letters/documents? Or, and this is a very specific prompt, but post-Yorktown, does Hamilton witness Washington's reaction to Jacky's death?
Or when Washington becomes President, all the political intrigue! The two of them learning to work together in a more equal standing, Washington's annoyance with Hamilton's and Jefferson's catfights, an evening of political schmoozing, Hamilton accompanying Washington out on one of his morning rides?
Also, maybe more on how Washington sees himself in Hamilton, or at least sees the mistakes he made? (Art idea: Washington looking at Hamilton while the ghost of young Washington lingers behind him?) And obviously Washington came from a much better-off background than Hamilton did, but he also climbed socially through marriage and war, and also Hamilton has one thing Washington was very keenly aware of his lack of—an education—so anything on that?
For smut: both 'punishment' and actual punishment (that could either turn into smut or not), Hamilton kneeling for Washington and boot-licking and boot worship, body worship on both sides of the equation, makeshift gags (Hamilton needs to learn to talk less!), Hamilton being tied up if there's time and they're in a private place, daddy kink (usually a huge nope, but for this pairing alone I want all of it!), cock warming, orgasm denial, and just generally power dynamics and Washington controlling Hamilton (and I'm a huge fan of visual power dynamics for art: clothed Washington/unclothed Hamilton, Washington towering over Hamilton etc.). Also, not strictly smut, but maybe Washington and Hamilton fearing discovery and trying to be circumspect, or being discovered and the consequences of that?
Alexander Hamilton/Gilbert du Motier Marquis de Lafayette/George Washington
Okay, so this is basically my Hamilton/Washington and Lafayette/Washington requests combined. I like a lot of the same things for all these ships (power dynamics, almost-insubordination and military hierarchies, secrecy and sneaking around and repression and guilt and almost-discoveries and discoveries, politics, cultural/class difference clashes, father/mentor figures). Art prompts especially are very similar, so I'm just going to list a few art things instead of going into detail: riding into battle, stolen moments away from camp/in a locked room or closet, huddling for warmth in a cold situation, Washington looming over the other two, being all in each other's personal spaces.
Hamilton and Lafayette performing (sexually or otherwise) under Washington's command! Fic or art, this is such a delicious scenario, whether it involved letter-writing, war tactics, meetings, kissing, fucking each other etc. Also, punishments for transgressions, and never let it be said that Washington isn't creative!
Also, do Lafayette and Hamilton sometimes get competitive over Washington's affections (despite Hamilton being more reluctant to respond because he's prickly like that)? Is Washington wistful of the time Lafayette and Hamilton spend together? Are two of them in a relationship before the other is brought in, and does it cause issues? In general, how do they sort through their relationship?
Also, extra angst and repression issues, because Washington is fucking two boys, and not only does that lead to a greater risk of discovery, it's also even more precarious politically and it's almost certainly Lafayette and Hamilton who're going to face the most consequences.
Alexander Hamilton/George Washington/Thomas Jefferson
Washington and his quarrelling secretaries! I love Washington's exasperation with their arguments, and his attempts at keeping peace and avoiding partisanship, and Hamilton and Jefferson just going at it and tearing into each other. And I love that Hamilton is closer in Washington's confidence than Jefferson (at least in the musical), and how much Washington's reliance on Hamilton and agreement with Hamilton pisses Jefferson off (there is a definite undertone of senapi hasn't noticed me D: there!).
Maybe Washington orders his secretaries to make up, in some way or the other, because he's sick of their constant arguing, and they do, somehow, because they do both want to please him? (Does Washington lock them in a cupboard :D? Or maybe take them both on holiday somewhere?) Or maybe he punishes them because they're constantly fighting and they need some discipline, and if they're behaving like children he'll treat them like children?
Or maybe a v-shaped relationship with Hamilton and Jefferson both being very into Washington (if in different ways), but still loathing each other? Do they get very competitive of each other and pissed off at each other? Are there spats of jealously and hurt feelings? Do they get into fights with each other, and does Jefferson quit more than his Cabinet post when he resigns?
Or is it unrequited love/lust for Washington that both brings Hamilton and Jefferson together and divides them? Perhaps they have sex with each other because of their mutual admiration/lust for Washington and then hate each other (and grow to hate Washington?) because of that?
Or maybe Jefferson is jealous of Hamilton's perceived closeness to Washington (whether or nit they're actually close and have actually been intimate with each other) and acts out and gets pissed off and resigns because of that? With lots of annoyed stares at each other and Hamilton smirking at Jefferson, if you're so inclined. Perhaps Jefferson stumbles upon Washington and Hamilton in bed together? (Maybe Washington invites him to join them, thus pissing off both Hamilton and Jefferson?)
Angelica Schuyler/George Washington
I needed only the five seconds Angelica and Washington dance together in Helpless and Satisfied to want to see them in any capacity, whether gen or shippy. Also, Washington and Angelica have corresponded, and Washington knew Philip Schuyler, and REG has played the Nala to Chris Jackson's Simba sometimes in Lion King, that is more than enough for me to fall down the rabbit hole of want. (Seriously, though, the fact that Angelica's the only woman Washington danced with at the ball, if I remember correctly, is ♥. And how gentle and dignified the dancing is! And how reverent Washington looks of Angelica when he's basically moving around her.)
So—anything about them meeting. Did they have any sort of conversation at the ball? Or maybe Washington knew Angelica as a child? Or did they keep up more correspondence that was lost? Or, after the war, did Angelica visit Washington for some reason? (Maybe a political reason?) Or maybe they meet at one of Martha Washington's parties?
For art, I'd just love to see more of the reverence and gentleness that's in their interactions with each other—the specific scene I don't mind being anything.
If you're up for AU ideas, Angelica dressing up as a man to join the army! Either gen or shippy would be very fun here—does Washington discover Angelica at all, or does Angelica manage to evade being detected and maybe somehow manage somehow to become one of Washington's aides without discovery? Or genderswap where Washington is also a woman? And either the army somehow allows women for handwave reasons, or Washington managed to hide it all this time.) And I do think that their reactions to each other would be less reverent if they met in any other situation or society than they did, so you can play with that if you want.
Smutty fic and art: gentle, reverent dom Washington would be great, worshipping Angelica (and driving her mad through teasing)! Or maybe Angelica gets too fired up and becomes overexcited/insubordinate, and needs to be disciplined?
Elizabeth “Eliza” Schuyler/Maria Reynolds
Okay, so they've never even met in the musical, but spurned mistress/betrayed wife definitely has lots and lots and lots of potential, especially for all the angst-y and/or fucked-up art and fic (though if you want to take it in a more fluffy direction, I definitely won't complain, as long as there's still some angst!).
Something that strikes me is that, in addition to her lower social status, Maria Reynolds is so much younger than either Eliza or Hamilton. I'd love anything that plays with their different stauses, and the difference in their age and experience.
Maybe Eliza taking out her frustrations and anger on Maria, and/or punishing Maria for 'seducing' her husband? Which is what she thinks, obviously, you and I know that Hamilton is at fault. Whatever level of consent you want on Maria's part is fine! If humiliation is your thing, I would love that, and maybe figging and/or spanking? Or, if you don't want to go in the smutty hatesex direction but still want to write/draw tense, post-Reynold Pamphlet anger and power dynamics and angst and violence that'd also be great!
One thing I find interesting is that Eliza's condemnation of Hamilton isn't just 'you brought this girl into our bed', it's 'you told the whole world how you brought this girl into our bed', and also that Maria gives Hamilton a look but is otherwise completely silent. Of course this is completely optional, but, if you want to, I'd love to see how the Reynolds Pamphlet affects Eliza and Maria in ways, socially, politically, and personally, that it doesn't Hamilton because they're women, and them bonding over that.
Alternately, Eliza and Maria slowly falling for each other after Hamilton's death or after Eliza finds out about Hamilton's cheating and telling the whole world that he cheated? In this case, a sweet moment between them—in bed kissing, out walking or reading together, sewing together, watching over Eliza's children.
Or an AU where Maria finds Eliza instead of Hamilton, and Eliza is the one who cheats? Or an AU where Eliza and Hamilton cheat on each other simultaneously with Maria? Eliza would have to have an extremely intense connection to Maria and have enough factors combining to make her cheat, I think, so it would be hugely a matter of fate. How would that change things, and how would it not change things?
George Washington/Gilbert du Motier Marquis de Lafayette
This is another ship based on the thirty seconds in Guns and Ships between Lafayette and Washington, and also based on the fact that Lafayette and Washington were by all amounts crazy close (I mean, Georges Washington Lafayette? And also Washington almost fucking the entire war up by entrusting Lafayette with a command that was diplomatically iffy? Yeah, sign me the fuck up). The way Lafayette is ridiculously informal with Washington (his salute is so so sloppy), the way he's all up in Washington's personal space and they stand reaaaally close together, the way Lafayette basically respectfully orders Washington to get Hamilton back (the way Daveed say 'but' on the OCR, I wish I could convey how many feels that word sends through me)—all of them point to the fact that I now ship the two of them very, very much.
So, yeah. Anything set during the Revolutionary War would be great. I'd love to see the rapport and trust between them (maybe even through and outsider's eyes?). Do they work very well with each other? Does Washington become afraid of what he's sending Lafayette off to do sometimes, that maybe he's sending him to his death (but sends him off anyway, because his country's need > any one person, no matter how much Washington cares about that person)? Do they clash over policies sometimes, get frustrated with each other? (Clashes due to cultural differences, maybe?) Or, in Act II, does Lafayette get frustrated and feel betrayed by Washington's decision not to intervene in France? What goes through his mind when he sends Georges off to Washington? Anything else political?
Also, Lafayette basically seeing Washington as a father-figure? Play with that if you want to, and go as dirtybadwrong as you want to. Washington being conflicted about his feelings towards Lafayette, and angst. Power dynamics (Washington's Lafayette commanding officer, after all), and everything else. (Does Washington ever have to punish Lafayette for a transgression, or calm him down if he's too jittery/excited?)
Maybe Washington greeting Lafayette when he comes back to camp, or sending him off? Or maybe a private moment between the two of them—in Washington's study, in his workroom, in the forest where no-one can see—where they let down their guards, kissing or just leaning against each other, or massages? Or maybe a quiet moment between the two of them, but in the midst of battle/otherwise surrounded by others? Or Lafayette foiling a plot on Washington's life? Being almost discovered by someone, or actually discovered, and if the latter, does that change anything? Or if you want to go very angsty, Lafayette visiting Washington's grave when he comes back to America years and years and years later?
Marvel Cinematic Universe
- Fandom-specific DNWs: Bucky/Nat and Darcy Lewis, including passing mentions.
- I'd prefer that Coulson, Loki, Tony, Peter Parker, and Vision aren't main characters, please.
- There's such a vast world to play in in the MCU, and so much of the characters' lives we don't know about because of the way time works in the movies! There's a lot of room for exploration and worldbuilding. My favourite MCU movies are the Cap movies, and I'd love to see what happens between them (and the. Avengers movies)! Between Avengers & TWS, between TWS & AoU, between AoU & CW—I'm really curious as to what happens in the in-between years where obviously important stuff has happened.
- I'm very interested in politics for this fandom, because so much of the storyline is influenced by in-world politics which we don't get to see. For example, HYDRA's ideology, the politics behind the US supersoldier program, Project Insight being authorized, the Accords—there's so much to explore.
- CW brought up some interesting questions about the fact that the majority of the problems the Avengers deal with are things they've caused, albeit sometimes necessarily, so maybe something about that.
- For this fandom especially I'd love to see outsider POVs, whether that be people who are working closely with the characters or people who only see the characters on TV.
- I love the sheer scale of the events of the movies, so maybe something about that?
- There's a common thread of the end not justifying the means across the Cap movies, so something about that, maybe?
- With so many supervillains floating around, there's plenty of room for lots of H/C (or H without C) with characters being captured and tortured and injured.
- I love fun and asskicking and just superheroes being superheroes too.
- I adore the fact that the characters have very individual senses of humour!
- Other things I'm not fond of include AoS in general, the way AoS handled SHIELD in particular, all the Avengers living at the Avengers tower (especially post-Avengers but pre-TWS; I don't really mind pre-AoU since there's some element of canon to it).
Alexander Pierce/Steve Rogers
I find the one scene they had together so very interesting. Pierce is trying to manipulate Steve, but it isn't working, and Steve does appear to realize that there's something fishy going on, if only because of Fury's 'trust no-one'. And then there's the obvious visual power differences, and Pierce not getting what he wants from Steve and hunting him down in the most twisted way, and yep, that scene hits my id very, very hard.
Does Pierce follow Steve's work at S.H.I.E.L.D. with interest, because Captain America who destroyed HYDRA? Or maybe an AU where Pierce doesn't die and is captured instead, or any other reason for them to meet again? I'd just love explorations of their different ideologies, and any and all things you want to write/draw for them.
Non-con or dub-con are both great, if you want to go in a more consensual direction that's also great (although I think the latter would require a lot more work?). If you're going in the non-con direction, Pierce capturing Steve and keeping him under his thumb? (Non-con groping and badtouch!) Or an AU with a Steve/Pierce abusive relationship/fake-gentle relationship in the lead-up to TWS?
Or creepy voyeurism, with Pierce listening in on the bugs in Steve's apartment/watching him in some other way?
Jane Foster/Sif
Super-intelligent scientist/warrior is my jam, and I love this pairing a ridiculous amount, and I would love anything for it, honestly. Whatever you choose to play with in the MCU sandbox is fine by me.
Maybe an AU where Jane meets Thor instead of Sif, somehow, and it all spirals from there? What would change in the MCU universe, what wouldn't? (Or if you want to go with the Jane!Thor route as in the comics that'd also be good, tbh.)
Or maybe Sif comforts Jane after Thor and Jane break up, and that turns into something more? Or Sif rescues Jane from something, or vice versa? Any excuse for H/C is great! Or, Jane and Sif working as a team against a supernatural threat, and in general having each other's backs and being there for each other.
Or maybe Sif teaches Jane how to fight? Or Sif whisks Jane away on a romantic tour of the Nine Realms? Or Jane takes Sif to work with her one day, to the astonishment of her colleagues? Or they explore the wonders of Midgard and/or Asgard? Or just lazing together in bed making out would also be pretty great.
Natasha Romanov/Peggy Carter
Spies and spying and spy shenanigans! Just everything to do with intelligence agencies and intragency policies and politics and foeyay and/or mentor/mentee, please.
Maybe Peggy supervises Natasha's defection to SHIELD? Natasha defects because of Peggy, maybe? Or maybe they have a foeyay thing going and Peggy manages to convince Natasha? Or Peggy seduces Natasha over to SHIELD?
Or Natasha visits Peggy in her nursing home, maybe? Advice dispensing, banter, gentle kissing, angst?
Or, if you're okay with background Peggy/Dottie, Peggy watches Natasha from afar and thinks of how similar she is to Dottie, maybe? Or Peggy's relationship with Natasha starts as Natasha being some kind of substitute for Dottie? (And either it remains fucked up or Peggy falls for Nat as Nat eventually.)
Or maybe an AU where they're closer in age to each other? (But with some kind of age gap still, please, the larger the better.) Maybe Cold War era rivalry with spy shenanigans? Thwarting each other's plans, fighting each other, kissing each other as a distraction technique, accidentally(-on-purpose) falling into bed together.
Or any kind of foeyay, really, I don't mind.
Peggy Carter/Sharon Carter
I loved Sharon in CW and TWS both (although I'm disappointed she didn't have a bigger role) and I adore Peggy a heap, and I'd love to see anywhere you go with this, whether fucked up or fluffy or both (*insert bothisgood.gif*). I'd rather they didn't become involved until Sharon is an adult, if that's okay with you.
Sharon's statements at Peggy's funeral about her surname—what was it like living in Peggy's shadow, even just within Peggy's family? What is it like in the outside world? Does she resent Peggy for it? Get annoyed by it? (Hatesex, anyone?) Does she get frustrated by the work she has to do to make herself heard for her own talents and strengths?
Or maybe Peggy mentoring Sharon, or Sharon discussing a workday with Peggy? Or maybe more on that phonecall with Peggy we see in TWS? Or Peggy teaching Sharon how to dance, or dancing with her at a function of sorts? Or the two of them in Peggy's office? Or fic/artwork exploring their similarities and differences? Or either one of them being captured (and tortured) and the other riding to her rescue?
Or maybe something more twisted, if that's your thing? When Peggy starts to detiorate, does she start thinking Sharon is Steve/use Sharon as a substitute for Steve? Or fucked up family issues?
Senator Brandt/Steve Rogers
Steve being able to see through politician's bullshit had to come from somewhere—did he cultivate this ability due to prolonged exposure to Senator Brandt? Did Steve actually believe some part of the Senator's spiel? I'd love something, anything, about the WWII propaganda machine that Steve was a huge part of, and that in the films Senator Brandt seems to be helping to orchestrate.
Or maybe, if you want to go in that direction, dubcon/noncon, with Senator Brandt abusing his authority (and/or plain being abusive) to get Steve into his bed? Or just Steve on his knees in front of Senator Brandt, still adorned with the American flag. Or does Senator Brandt (and maybe some other politicians) make use of Steve's body because it's obviously government body? Do they pimp him out to fill the Treasury's coffers? (Is Steve coerced into believing that he's providing a service for his country?)
Or maybe Steve keeps pressuring Brandt to send him into battle but Brandt doesn't cave? Or maybe Brandt keeps Steve as a pampered pet?
Or, if you can spin this, maybe they actually do fall for each other, somehow? Through prolonged contact with each other? Brandt wooing Steve or vice versa? Steve trying to find some sort of depth in Brandt and oops, accidentally caring for him?
Steve Rogers/Wanda Maximoff
If there's one thing both Steve and Wanda have it's shared life experiences. Both of them are uniquely positioned to know what the other has gone through. (And I love that Steve understands the twins even before he meets them. Letting a German scientist experiment on you for your country is one way of forming a very small, very exclusive group of people! And also by being created as a weapon for the cause you're fighting for, and being seen as a weapon forever afterwards.) And I love that Wanda doesn't have any second thoughts or hesitations about joining Steve in CW.
Steve mentoring Wanda when she first joins the Avengers! I love Steve in tough love mode in Civil War, so more of that, more of Steve's mentorship and the kind of paternal-but-not-quite role he seems to play with Wanda would be great. Or anything about Steve being older/more experienced than Wanda, really.
Or Steve breaking Wanda out of the Raft/going on the run together, maybe? I'd love to see what they do with themselves between CW and IW—do they go into deep cover? Do they still help people out, or do they go completely to ground and stop using their powers? H/C in the aftermath of Wanda's imprisonment would also be great, if you want to go in that direction.
Or maybe they explore how Wanda's powers work? In bed or otherwise, both would be great! I'm just curious as to how Wanda's powers work.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
- Okay, so this is a weird request, but please no everyone lives/some people live AUs unless I specifically ask for them? The point of Rogue One, for me, is that everyone dies (and, personally, I don't think there's anything left for any of them if they do live), so I'd prefer not to see this. No unrequested AUs from the movie at all, please? (I don't mind picking and choosing details from the book at all, though! That's what I love to do. And if I ask for AUs then they're more than fine.) The main thing I love about Rogue One is the nitty-gritty behind-the-scene details, and the toll the Rebellion takes on all its members.
- I'd adore backstory and generally terrible things they've done (because I don't think any of them haven't done one or two awful things).
- Quick Cassian note: I love that he's a tortured idealist who's done awful things (seriously, Cassian/self-loathing is my OTP, and Cassian selling his integrity for the Rebellion is something I'd love to see, as is calculating!Cassian), so please don't make him a person who hasn't done bad things? Also for Jyn, although she's actually more Han Solo type, and I love that! (I would seriously love to see Jyn having been a smuggler at some point.)
- I'd love more on the workings of the Rebellion, and all the petty annoyances, and also, for characters who are part of the Rebellion, Rebellion missions.
- I'd love to see traumatized, exhausted characters stretched to their limits, and exhausted, harried leaders stretched to their limits.
- Smutty things: lots and lots of loyalty kink, please, and superior officers/people under them, and kneeling and D/s. The command hierarchies of both the Empire and the Rebellion are just made for this!
- The Empire—I'd love to see more about what sort of things they do.
- The Force, and the Jedi, and explorations of that, and what legends about the Jedi and stories about them remain in the Empire.
- This is a general Star Wars thing, but I love the various planets, and I'd love whatever new planets you come up with! Also cultures of various planets and culture clashes?
- There's a lot of moral grey area in Rogue One and I love that, so something about that? Especially how extremists are presented very neutrally and how the supposed 'good guys' do bad things, and, again, that's presented neutrally.
- For art: I love how worn and ragged everyone and their costumes look! And also, hair game. Star Wars hair game is strong.
Bail Organa/Cassian Andor
Okay, so Cassian seems to be pretty high up in the Rebellion hierarchy—I'm sure he interacts with Bail a lot. Maybe he's being sent off on one of the missions where he does terrible things, or maybe a mission report afterwards and he's pretty banged up? Or Bail has to send Cassian into a situation where there's a high chance that he'll be captured and tortured? (And then, of course, Cassian is captured and tortured, and all the hurt/comfort.) Or I'd love to see strategy meetings, behind-the-scene workings of the Rebellion. Or maybe Cassian and Bail working to remain professional despite their relationship? Or do they bring the Rebellion command hierarchy to bed with them?
Or Cassian being in the Rebellion since he was six—does that have anything to do with Bail? Is Bail a mentor to Cassian and does their relationship change into something else as Cassian grows up? Or does Cassian meet Bail as an adult and they become fuckbuddies/fall for each other/etc. at that point?
Also, Cassian's hair is really, really soft, and I would adore seeing Bail playing with it/stroking it.
Cassian Andor/Davits Draven
All the hierarchies and power dynamics here, please! I love the obedience Cassian gives to the Rebellion and, by extension, to Draven, his CO, and I love all the horrible things he must have done carrying out orders for the Rebellion. Draven must have been the one giving him those orders, so anything on that.
Does Draven attempt to get Cassian to deal with his guilt/PTSD (subtly or not-so-subtly), and fail? Does he have his own issues that he's not dealing with? Does he genuinely care about Cassian despite the sometimes unsavoury things he has to get Cassian to do? (What does he think when he's deliberately sending Cassian off to kill someone or to be captured and tortured?)
Or is he manipulating Cassian for his own purposes? Does he take advantage of his position fo authority over Cassian? Or maybe he doesn't think he's taking advantage but Cassian feels obliged so it's fucked up?
For art, power dynamics! Draven training Cassian or helping him to brush up on his skills, Cassian looking bruised and battered while giving a mission report, Cassian kneeling/saluting to Draven, Draven tracing one of Cassian's scars, Draven having to punish Cassian.
Sense and Sensibility – All Media Types
Note: I have read the books but haven’t actually watched any kind of adaptation, so.
Colonel Brandon/Elinor Dashwood
Okay, so I have really, really strong feelings about this pairing. I figured that Marianne would end up with Col. Brandon and Elinor would end up with Edward pretty early on, but I still ended up shipping these two like hell, because I love their camaraderie and their rapport and how much they get each other and Elinor's descriptions of Brandon's good looks and their chemistry and just everything about them.
I'd love basically any sort of canon divergence AU where they end up with each other, whether that's Edward marrying Lucy and Marianne falling for someone else after Willoughby and the two of them growing together, or the two of them realizing that they'd be good together, or anything else.
Infidelity isn't my favourite thing for this pairing, but something set years on when they realize they're both unhappy with their marriages, gravitate to each other, have an oh moment, and sort something out with their respective partners would be great!
If you want to handwave their getting together and create something set in the future that would also be grate!
For art, just anything with the two of them together. Dancing in London, out riding, going on a walk, with any children you might want them to have, the Colonel leaning down to kiss Elinor's hand, Brandon and Elinor earnestly discussing a book or politics with their heads bent together, a rare moment where they're in an argument, all up in each other's faces. Anything you'd like to draw would be great!
Star Wars
- I don't play hard-and-fast with EU; I don't mind complete faithfulness, completely ignoring its existence, or something inbetween. (I consider the novelizations part of the EU).
- Planets! I'd love explorations of different planets and their people!
- Politics! Behind-the-scene views and nitty-gritty details are always my favourite things, and I'd especially love this for characters who are Senators of Rebellion/Resistance leaders.
- I'm interested in the way the Jedi fail. If the attachment thing is what you love, then go with it, but I'd also love to see a different take. I've always wondered why the Jedi—a religious order which you could leave if you wanted to—are considered wrong for the non-attachment thing (and I admit that the demonization of Buddhist culture and lumping different kinds of Buddhism plus a few other Eastern religions together isn't my favourite thing!). I'd love a take on the Jedi where the Jedi's failings are that it's not made more explicit that leaving is OK, that they get too bogged down in politics instead of doing what's right, and that they encourage attachment in the form of the (very close) Master/Padawan relationship (and whatever else faults, I'm sure there are many!). A respectful take on so-called 'Eastern' religions would be much appreciated!
- Regarding Anakin—I understand his position, and where he's coming from, but 'it's all Obi-Wan's/Yoda's/Padmé's/Qui-Gon's fault' is not my thing, and I have zero sympathy for the fact that he killed little children. Reluctantly, maybe, (and not-so-reluctantly with the Tuskens) but he killed little children, and I don't really like that. At all. What I would enjoy is an AU where Anakin left the Jedi because he realized that he wanted attachments.
- Or just ignoring the attachments things in favour of all the ships is fine as well!
Leia Organa/Mon Mothma
I'd love Leia/Mon Mothma in any form. Specific prompts include mentorship, politican-ly peers and in a casual relationship (before Leia gets together with Han, though), or Leia going to Mon Mothma for help with the Resistance after Ben Falls, and finding comfort in an old friend maybe wasn't part of the plan and certainly not officially sanctioned, but...
For art, maybe Mon Mothma mentoring Leia, or the two of them just talking. Or something pre-TFA but only by a few years, a quiet love scene, General Organa and the former leader of the Rebellion and of the New Republic.
Mon Mothma knew Padmé—does she put two and two together and see whose daughter Leia is? Does their relationship start because Leia looks up to Mon? Are they ever caught in a compromising situation by colleagues/tabloids/Rebel technicians? Do they have long arguments with each other about the minutiae of policy and politics? Does Mon ever command Leia in bed, or is it the other way around? If you want this to go kind of skeevy, I'm fine with that, but I'm also fine with non-skeeviness; whatever you want to write/draw is lovely!
Or maybe just before they leave for the Death Star, Leia and Mon sharing a quiet moment together, possibly the last time they see each other? Or 'thank goodness we're alive and we've won' sex at any point?
The Lord of the Rings – J. R. R. Tolkien
- There aren't enough fics based on the Myths Transformed version of Middle-earth, and if that's something you'd like to explore, I'd love that, especially a more scientifically accurate (and sometimes, to my mind, a more tragic-and-dark-but-beautiful) vision of Middle-earth. (Other versions would also be wonderful, of course! This is just a specific thing I don't see much of.)
- I love the fact that Tolkien's canon is a patchwork of different stories and mythologies, both in the Doylist and Watsonian sense, and fic exploring that would be wonderful.
- Linked with the points above, I'm interested in lived vs. written stories, and Those Pesky Historians, and how unseen forces affect history.
- Nature that comes alive.
- The mortals and Elves/free will and destiny debate and the role of the Valar would be a wonderful thing to read about—I'd love exploration of any of the philosophical questions of Tolkien's world, really, but especially this, as detailed in the Athrabeth and writings about the role of the Valar.
- All things Darkness and Light, really—I'm very fascinated by how these polar opposites work in Tolkien's world (and you can go back right to the beginning, to the Music, if you like), and how Arda is both grim and uplifting at the same time.
- I love the way magic and power operate in Tolkien's world—the work he's done to make it believable is wonderful. Writing a green sun, indeed! Anything you can write about this would be welcome and much-adored.
- I especially love the Ñoldor and Númenor, although every Age of Middle-earth holds my heart.
- For interspecies relationships, I'd love to see an emphasis on otherness and trying to understand each other.
Éowyn/Galadriel
Éowyn and Galadriel meeting! I love these two characters and want to see them together, and however you engineer and/or depict that will be wonderful!
How do they meet? Is it after the War of the Ring? Or maybe an AU where Éowyn wanders into Lórien somehow, and she finds Galadriel that way? Or Galadriel venturing out of Lórien and into Rohan for some reason?
Éowyn seems to be kind of like younger Galadriel in that she's headstrong and knows her own mind, but at the same time she's a lot more desperate (although possibly not as reckless?). Anything playing with that would be great!
Or maybe Éowyn looking into Galadriel's mirror and the aftermath of that? Or Galadriel showing Éowyn the wonders of Lórien, or Éowyn hosting Galadriel in Meduseld? Anything that gets the two of them to spend time together is great, in my book!
And for art especially, but fic too, they're both golden-haired and beautiful, but the resemblance ends there. Éowyn's more muscled rider's body when compared with Galadriel's Vanyar and Telerin heritage, please? I'd love anything about visual differences, and also height differences.
Finduilas of Dol Amroth/Uinen
Maybe Finduilas used to go down to the sea and talk to it when she lived in Dol Amroth? Or maybe, after she dies, the sea claims her? Anything from fitting in canon to wildly AU would be lovely for this.
I'd love something vaguely supernatural, please, if you can do that, and maybe something to do with swans? Or maybe Uinen rising up out of the water to embrace Finduilas, or Finduilas walking in to the water?
I love the sinister edges of Tolkien's world and how the magic of Middle-earth is very wild and untamed and incomprehensible, and I love that there's both the sinister kind of incomprehensible brought on by the Marring of Arda and the kind of incomprehensibleness that just is. And for the purposes of this exchange I would love what happens to Finduilas, her fading away, falling into either category. And I also love what happens to human beings when they try to approach/understand things beyond their comprehension, whether that's just disappearing, losing their memory, or awful, unnameable tortures, if you want to go the dark fic/art way.
Maybe Finduilas was fading away because parts of her were slowly being taken to the other world, possible due to an ancient Dúnedain artefact/her Silvan blood/both, and Uinen is either the perpetrator or her rescuer? Or maybe Finduilas wasting away in Gondor was because someone was fucking with her mind and keeping her on edge and jittery (and, again, Uinen could be her rescuer or tormentor)? Or maybe a Thomas the Rhymer-style thing where Uinen whisks Finduilas away only for her to return in the Fourth Age?
Goldberry/Lady of the Blue Brooch
There are so many lovely fics for this pairing, but I still want more! For those of you who don't know, the Lady of the Blue Brooch was a woman, presumably a noble of Cardolan, and her brooch found its way into the tomb of the last prince of Cardolan. And, of course, Goldberry (and Tom) knew her.
From there, I'd love whatever your take on this would be! Was she fleeing from something when she met Goldberry? Wandered away from a travelling party and got lost? How did she die? In her life, who was she? A princess? A lady? A warrior? Someone else entirely?
And since she's probably a noble from Cardolan, maybe something about the last days of Cardolan, or something about the politics and the wars of Arnor?
I'd love to see Goldberry's meeting with her, maybe by the Withywindle, or did Goldberry wander into her somewhere in Arnor? Or maybe something about the two of them in Goldberry's house? Or something bittersweet or angsty about how she leaves? (And how did her brooch find its way to that barrow?)
Or something creepier, maybe, with her being a barrow-wight, or Goldberry trying to bring her back from death, or Goldberry casting an enchantment over her to make her stay?
Goldberry/River-woman
Okay, so this is one of my few exceptions to the parent/child incest DNW, because, uh, damn do I ship this. I only started shipping it while thinking of what to nominate, but I really, really ship it now.
I love Goldberry's mysterious nature and how we basically know nothing about her, and we know even less about the River-woman. You can choose to explore who and what they are and where they come from, if you want, or you can choose to keep their origins shrouded in mystery—it's up to you.
This is really a 'nature which tries to eat you' pairing, if that's your thing, for me. Either deliberate (nature which tries to eat you because it's malevolent and evil) or not (they're dangerous because they just are, it's nothing deliberate) would be great!
Either fluff (the River-woman wrapping herself around Goldberry? Growing lilies for her? Taking her sailing through the Withywindle? Protecting her from some darkness?) or angst or creepy twistedness/dark fucked-upness (the darkness of the Huorns infecting Goldberry and/or the River-woman? Sauron's influence on the Old Forest? A creepy twist on their origin story? The River-woman trying to drown/strangle Goldberry/draw her into her to keep forever?).
The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth – J. R. R.

Almarian/Erendis
Okay, so Erendis/her mother in law the Queen again has lots of implications for power dynamics and fucked-up family relationships, but also fluffiness if you want to go in that direction. So do whatever you want with this.
Maybe Erendis seduces Almarian to piss off Aldarion? Does Aldarion and/or Almarian find out, and find out why, and are they pissed off? Do they slowly fall for each other or does it remain fucked up?
Or maybe some H/C? Maybe Almarian visits Erendis in Emerië? Or maybe Almarian decides that Aldarion doesn't deserve Erendis, and romances Erendis herself? Or maybe Almarian convinces Erendis to let Ancalimë go to the city? Or Erendis takes comfort in her mother-in-law while Aldarion is gone?
Or, for a smut idea, Erendis is spanked by Almarian for [Reason]. Or the bride of the King's Heir has to remain a chaste until the wedding night/while her husband is gone out of Númenor, and Almarian holds the key to Erendis' chastity device. Or, Almarian decides to tie Erendis up, again for [Reason]. Or, traditionally, Númenorean brides have to submit to their mother-in-laws for 'inspection'.
Galadriel/Varda
Something mystical and magical and dangerous for these two, maybe? I'm interested in how this'd work—was it a passionate romance during the Years of the Trees, or did it happen after Galadriel came back at the end of the Third Age?
If pre-Darkening, maybe the two of them meeting, and things proceeding from there. Explorations of power dynamics, maybe, because Varda is obviously so much more powerful than Galadriel, and/or mentorship? And post-Darkening, there must have been feelings of betrayal on both sides, so something about that, maybe?
And how do they react on meeting each other again, after Galadriel has atoned and gone through her test? Or maybe Galadriel finding comfort in Varda after the loss of everything she knows, and after the loss of her husband too (well, estrangement, but Celeborn doesn't look to be crossing the Sea any time soon).
Or, what does it feel like for an Elf to be in bed with a Valië? Does Varda use her powers on Galadriel? Or does Varda submit to Galadriel for this one thing?
I'd love art about stars and skies, please! Or maybe Varda and Galadriel on Taniquetil together, or Varda watching over Galadriel from far away?
Haleth/older female spider of Nan Dungortheb
This is a ‘basically an excuse to request’ smut pairing. (Which isn’t to say that plotty fic or non-smut art wouldn’t be appreciated! I would love that too.)
Maybe Haleth securing passage through Nan Dungortheb for her people by fucking a spider? Alternately, noncon. Or creepy possessive dubcon where the spider wants to keep Haleth with it forever? (And Stockholm Syndrome-ish stuff?)
Or something dark and fey, maybe, emphasizing how ancient the spider is and how much it’s a thing of the dark and an old, old creature? Or, alternately, fluffy crack where the spider and Haleth are adorably in love!
Extra things you could add if you’re writing/drawing smut, but are not at all requirements or things that'd be necessary for me to love your fic/art: oviposition, multiple spiders, her people watching (or maybe just her warriors, voyeurism is great either way), spider legs inside Haleth's holes, spiderwebs, spider fluid, the spider being surprisingly gentle (although this doesn't help at all), gags/Haleth screaming herself hoarse/trying to talk to the spiders but none of them understand what is being said.
Indis/Nerdanel
Indis and Nerdanel in the house of Indis after Fëanor's Exile, or later, after the Darkening and the Doom, helping each other to cope, please? I just want all the angst and Doom.
I'd love to see Indis and Nerdanel, something passionate and intense—kissing, maybe, or even just talking to each other. Or I'd love to see Indis as the Queen of the Noldor (whether as Finwë's wife or in her own right in an AU)—loyalty kink, anyone? Or maybe something less smutty, dealing with the politics of the situation, maybe.
I am fascinated by the Noldor who remained in Aman after Fëanor and Fingolfin left. How did they attempt to bridge ties with the other Elves (especially the Teleri)? What were Indis' and Nerdanel's reactions to the Kinslaying? What were other people's reactions to the fact that their relations (and especially children) are Kinslayers? Or, what sort of role did they play in the reorganization of Tirion and in all the work that must have been necessary post-Darkening?
Lalaith/Niënor Níniel
Sistercest! This would, out of necessity, have to be an AU where Lalaith doesn't die. Maybe Lalaith and Niënor sustaining each other through difficult times? Maybe instead of Túrin, Lalaith is the one who's cursed? Codependent fucked-up siblings, please! And for art (and fic), something focusing on how they're the antithesis of each other?
What would happen if Túrin died, not Lalaith? I'd imagine a lot of the events would go the same, but would Húrin not having a male heir affect canon events much? Would Lalaith stay with her mother and sister, or would she be smuggled out like Túrin was? And would Doriath and the outlaws happen just the same, and would Lalaith still be the Blacksword, or would something different happen? Would Lalaith's and Niënor's meeting go the same? And what effect would Niënor not being pregnant have on the final events? Would they go the same, or differently? (And would she even want to be called Lalaith after her brother's death?)
Or an AU where Lalaith doesn't die and Túrin also lives—again, would Lalaith go to Doriath or stay with Morwen? Would Niënor and her become codependent because of the situation they're in if she stayed, or would they fight all the time? If Lalaith goes to Doriath with her brother, would Niënor stumble upon Lalaith instead of Túrin?
Tar-Anárion's daughters/Tar-Ancalimë
We know that Tar-Anárion's daughters both refused the queenship, most likely because they were pressured to, but there's not much to go on beyond that, so I would like it very much if political backstabbing was involved. Did they try to betray their father/aunt and were caught? Or was it the people around them who were doing the backstabbing, because of [insert reason you want here]? Just all the Númenorean politics, please! (Which we know are not very nice at all, even if they have a polite veneer.)
I'm very interested in Tar-Ancalimë's relationship with her granddaughters, since it's implied that she's the reason they gave up the throne. Did she regret not really caring about Tar-Anárion, and go too far in the other direction? Is she just extremely protective to the point of being unhealthily controlling for different reasons? Or maybe she sees them as her heirs, and is very possessive because of that? Or if you want to go really dark, Tar-Ancalimë marrying both of them off to husband she knows won't let them become queen, and manipulating both the husband and her granddaughters?
Or maybe the reason Tar-Anárion's daughters gave up the throne is because, while they're heirs, their bodies belong to the throne, and thus to Tar-Ancalimë/the Council? Maybe the way they dress, how and what they eat, even how they perform their ablutions are all controlled by external forces? Maybe they're forced to undergo gruelling 'training' or be experimented upon? Or maybe they're forced to provide sex?
Tar-Míriel/Uinen
There's an obvious connection between the Line of Elros and the Sea, and as the Lady of the Waves, Uinen is part of that connection too. Anything, fic or art, angsty or fluffy, playing with that would be lovely.
Do the Faithful have any rituals to worship Uinen? Are they elaborate and long (and perhaps sexual)? Does Míriel encounter Uinen through one of the rituals? (Is she literally sacrificed to the sea, in a temporary non-fatal sacrifice?) Or maybe Uinen discovers the existence of these rituals after she and Míriel meet—perhaps Míriel introduces her to them?
Or maybe Míriel takes comfort in Uinen after she's taken as Ar-Pharazôn's wife. Perhaps she sneaks down to the sea, or perhaps Uinen comes to her somehow?
Or maybe Míriel is rescued by Uinen from the Downfall! Does Uinen carry Míriel away into her underwater bower? Does Míriel gain immortality, or does she have to die eventually still? Or maybe it's more creepy, with Uinen keeping Míriel captive against her will or using her powers to make her fall for her?
Or if you want to go in the smutty direction, underwater sex! And whatever powers Maiar have being used by Uinen for sex! Or creepysex with Uinen devouring Míriel, or drawing her under a spell to make her want to have sex with her, or any other type of creepyness.
The West Wing
- Fandom-specific DNW: absolutely no Josh/Donna, please. Past UST is fine, but please no present, acknowledged UST or any kind of relationship, future, past or present.
- For this fandom especially I love loyalty and devotion. The relationships I've requested all involve characters who are extremely loyal to each other, and canon has a ridiculous amount of loyalty kink, and I'd love any kind of loyalty.
- Canon-typical politics and drama is great. I love the politics and how it's done in the show, and however you want to play with that would be amazing! I especially love how competent the characters are at their jobs even if they're not as competent in their personal lives.
- Fic/art of the future is also great! I'd also love to see pre-canon stuff.
- For this show especially, I'd love to see canon divergence AUs.
- TWW has lots of crossover potential with the MCU, DCEU, Harry Potter, Stargate (SG-1 and SGA), Madam Secretary etc. if you want to go in that direction.
Josh Lyman/Jed Bartlet
Josh is so intensely loyal to Jed (even when he isn’t completely Jed’s guy the way he becomes Santos’ and I’d love to see more of that if you want to go in that direction) and I would love to see that loyalty explored. It’s part of the job description to take a bullet for the President, after all—what bullets has Josh taken, and what is he willing to do?
I’d love to see more of the paternalistic part of their relationship, as with Leo and Josh, if you want to. I don’t mind it taking on a sexual dimension, or perhaps the romantic relationship being separate from the father/son feelings but still there.
Josh and Jed’s relationship is not always smooth despite Jed’s affection for Josh and Josh’s loyalty—anything about that would also be appreciated, especially maybe Jed’s blunt honesty with Josh.
During the transition from the Bartlet administration to the Santos administration, are there in particular skeletons that Josh helps put away? Does Josh keep any secrets from Santos during and after the transition for Bartlet, whether they be of personal nature or related to work?
Post-canon, does Josh ever call Jed and ask for advice, or just talk to him? Or maybe something set ten years or twenty years later, where are they? Do they still keep in touch, or is it an unexpected reunion?
Or maybe a moment from Jed getting to know Josh and gaining his loyalty on the campaign trail of Bartlet for America? Or once they come to the White House, all the joys and pitfalls of their jobs? Or Josh calling/meeting Jed while he’s campaigning for Santos, and all the feelings involved?
Josh Lyman/Leo McGarry
I love Josh’s and Leo’s relationship, and I’d love to see it in any form.
Pre-canon fic or art, maybe, a moment from Leo’s and Josh’s past? I get the impression from the flashback to Hoynes’ campaign that Leo and Josh hadn’t seen each other in some time, if that’s something you want to play with, but I’d also love the two of them being close pre-canon. (Did Josh know Mallory well pre-canon?)
I love Josh’s unwavering loyalty to Leo, how he’s really Leo McGarry’s man in every sense of what that means, and I’d love to see more of that loyalty—how did it come about, and how does it play out in everyday life both during the Bartlet for America campaign and in the White House?
Leo’s kind of paternalistic thing with Josh, but also how he trusts Josh absolutely and it’s Josh who (other than the President) knows most about Leo’s alcoholism and drug problems, and how Josh is willing to take a bullet for Leo but Leo doesn’t want him to—I’d love to see more of that too, the father/son relationship in particular. That dynamic bleeding into a sexual/romantic relationship and all the fucked upness thereof is good! Or I’d love to see any kind of scene where the two of them are doing some political manoeuvring together, either involving the others or just the two of them.
An AU where Leo lives would be interesting, maybe? But I’d also love to see Josh grieving Leo and dealing with being in the White House and being Santos’ Chief of Staff without Leo to lean on. Or, for art (or fic if you want) I’d love to see Josh in Leo’s old office with Leo’s ghost/essence/whatever hovering over him.
