Fandom 5K Letter

Dear Fandom5K Author,

This is the first time I'm doing this exchange and I am excite! I know this letter looks overwhelming, but that's because I like so many things. I'm generally very easy to please, and will love whatever you write for me ♥.

If you want to know more about me , I’m [archiveofourown.org profile] The_Wavesinger, [tumblr.com profile] the-wavesinger and The Wavesinger (Silmarillion Writers’ Guild) on my fannish haunts. You can also find me here on DW, and as [livejournal.com profile] the_wavesinger on LJ, but I don’t frequent those places often. I If you want more on my fic preferences (however unlikely that is, after this very long letter!), my fic rec tag on Tumblr and my AO3 bookmarks may be of some use.You may also want to poke through my previous exchange letters.

This letter has a list of DNWs and general likes (+ likes for additional tags), and also fandom-specific prompts. However, please don't feel obliged to stick to my prompts—as long as you don't include my DNWs, I'm sure I'll love whatever you like.

The sections for some relationships/characters are longer than others, but this is not because I want the longer relationships more than the shorter ones, it's just that for some relationships/characters, I like very specific things, while, for others, I'd love basically anything.

  • Gore/guro/vore.
  • Necrophilia.
  • Torture of animals. (Humans/humanoids/other sapients being tortured is more than fine!)
  • Graphic descriptions of nausea/vomiting.
  • Reader inserts.
  • Mundane AUs.
  • Unrequested depowered/non-powered AUs.
  • Non-femslash A/B/O; femslash for this trope is fine!
  • Crossovers/fusions between fandoms I haven't asked for. (Crossover within any fandom in my letter or previous exchange letters, along with mythology and folklore, are more than fine!)
  • AUs with modern settings are no-no’s unless there’s a reasonable canon explanation (eg-: Tolkien, people cursed to be reborn again and again into mortal forms). Even then, please no high school or coffee shop AUs.
  • Please no age regression, de-ageing, or AUs in which one character is suddenly older than a previously older-than-them character (ageswap?).
  • Girl!penis. (Trans characters are fine, just please no inexplicable g!p.)
  • For smut, I'd prefer not to see bloodplay, scat, watersports, age play (including daddy/mommy kink), and any sort of permanent marking/scarring/body modification (scarring and permanent markings outside smut is perfectly fine) unless I've prompted these things for the specific pairing.
  • H/C fics centering on characters with depression and/or anxiety, and/or characters who self-harm or have eating disorders are not my favourite thing. (All of these things are more than fine in non-H/C fic, but not as things which can be hugged/cuddled better, please.)
  • Genderswap which makes F/F or M/M canon pairings or F/F or M/M pairings I've requested F/M.
  • Unrequested relationships as the main focus of a fic (side pairings/non-endgame relationships are fine).
  • Unrequested parent/child incest.
  • Smut for underage relationships unless otherwise requested.
  • Extreme underage (pre-pubertal children) unless otherwise requested.
  • Anachronistic discussions of sexuality and/or characters lecturing other characters on SJ issues.

Tropes, Genres, and (for fic) Story Elements

  • Angst. Drama. Politics. Tragedy.
  • Philosophical ponderings!
  • I love canon divergence AUs, and For Want Of A Nail and other what-if scenarios. I'd love both longer fic (for fic) and art/ficlets as snapshots of what could have been, all the things that could've happened, but didn't.
  • Soulmates! Not necessarily soulmate AUs (although that'd be more than fine), but soulmates as in 'I knew you the moment I saw you', or 'I felt you in my soul' or any other version of that—the electric connection is something I adore. Soulmate things I love include in every version of every reality, in another life, fated to be separated again and again.
  • Regency AUs.
  • Fake dating within the canon setting.
  • Arranged marriage within the canon setting.
  • Time travel and time loops, especially timefuckery where everything is fucked up!
  • (For femslash only) A/B/O
  • In-world mythology.
  • Cultural differences and clashes that occur due to cultural differences.
  • Worldbuilding in general.
  • Battle couples!
  • Lovers to enemies.
  • Enemies to lovers.
  • Trope subversions.
  • I have A Thing for sister/sister, and focusing on the sister aspects of the relationship—how they're alike and how they're different, and just how they're sisters.
  • Competence porn!
  • I also adore people being messes and general failboats, because, uh, contradictions?
  • I have zero problems with fics dealing with misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, racism etc. I like realism, but not fics centered on issues at the expense of characterization (i.e., I'd prefer fic that is period-typical and not anachronistic/using modern terminology and manifestations of bigotry for non-modern canons). I like tortured internal angst and the character(s) learning to live with themselves and their loved ones, or the consequences of the bigotry they face and how it affects their lives, rather than discussions of the issues they face in modern SJ terms. (So, for example, for Hamilton/Washington, internalized homophobia angst affecting their relationship or being discovered by someone else and the consequences, rather than, say, conversations about being gay.)
  • All the things that could've happened, but didn't.

Tone, Setting, and Miscellaneous Things

  • Characters dancing and spending time outdoors.
  • Characters in situations that shouldn't be funny, but are.
  • Characters who're comfortable around each other, and who tease and laugh with each other.
  • Slice-of-life fics and, for relationships, a look at all the quirks/annoyances of cohabitation.
  • Banter! I feel like I've repeated this a million times in this letter, but I adore banter!
  • Casual situations and everyday annoyances
  • Characters playing pranks on each other.
  • Generally over-the-top things played straight.
  • Drama interspersed with humor.
  • Characters sleeping on each other, making out for hours, drinking from the same cup, and generally being adorable!
  • Characters solving mysteries and going on journeys together!
  • Bittersweetness.
  • All the hard questions with no answers, characters trapped in unsolvable dilemmas, loss and grief and moving on.
  • Gallows humour, and humour in otherwise dark situations generally.
  • And just humour in general.
  • And if you want to go in the crack-y direction, I wouldn't mind that as well!
  • I adore OFCs and textual ghosts, for many, many reasons.
  • I'm more than fine with most side relationships, unless stated otherwise.
  • Genderbending! I always love Rule 63'd characters.
  • Open relationships! Threesomes! Moresomes! Orgies!
  • Trans, non-binary, and GNC characters, in a non-issuefic-y way. (See last point of previous section.)
  • Character and Relationships Dynamics.

    • Characters who and relationships which fall just short of the mark, the almost-most-not-quite. I think the closest word to this would be hamartia in its original sense?
    • Hurt, and not necessarily comfort.
    • Fucked-up families and messy friendships which really, really aren't good for the characters, but they love each other very much anyway. I don't mind either characters finding ways to move past the fucked-upness and the relationships end up flourishing, or moving past fucked-up-ness and leaving what they don't want behind, but I also don't mind a constant cycle of messing up.
    • Found families!
    • Intense friendships which play a central role in the characters' lives.
    • For longer works, plotty fics are always welcome!
    • Stoic and/or emotionally incompetent characters
    • Characters finding ways to come to terms with themselves, with their pasts, and with their loved ones and/or finding their place in the world (think Circle of Life).
    • Characters who're broken, characters who're tired, characters who're lost, characters who refuse to be found, characters who're hurt over and over again, characters who never ever win, characters who've given up. And characters who love, characters who give, characters who're selfless and kind even after everything they've been through, characters who give their all and then some more to people they love, characters who never give up, characters who keep on hoping and keep on fighting even beyond the bitter end. And characters who're a mixture of both types.
    • I love characters with flaws and unpleasant qualities! Awesome ladies can be awesome and flawed :).
    • I like relationships that are fated to end in tragedy, but I also really don't mind a pinch of humor with my angst, if that's your thing.

    Stylistic Things

    • I like all kinds of fic, so go wild—linear narrative, flashbacks, epistolary…whatever you think of is lovely, the more daring the better. I especially adore faux-historical documents and faux academia.
    • Relatedly, interactive fiction!
    • Characters teasing and bantering with each other.
    • I don’t mind any type of POV (including second person!). In fact, POV switches and outside POVs on relationships would be lovely.
    • I like fic of all lengths.

    Smut Likes

    • I will always want F/F or M/M smut, even if I haven't explicitly requested it! Femsub is preferred for F/M D/s smut, though I'm down for femdom if that's your thing, too.
    • I prefer a balance between sensuality, emotions, and physical sensations. Anything from playful to creepy is more than fine (although there are a few things I'd prefer not to see, as outlined in the kink DNWs).
    • Helplessness and humiliation. These are the two main things I love in kinky smut, and everything else derives from there.
    • Bantering and laughing during sex is lovely, as is gentleness.
    • And banter between the dom and the sub in D/s scenes (which can edge towards slightly cruel on the dom's part!).
    • Angry sex/hatesex, smut that gives off vibes of slightly creepy but in a way that can't be pinpointed
    • Dubcon and emotional manipulation!
    • Explorations of power dynamics. I especially like service submission, and power dynamics based on the characters' titles/positions! (I do confess to having a kink for honorifics and titles!)
    • Doms having control over the sub's everyday minutiae (although for short periods of time—24/7/365 high-protocol D/s is a turn-off)
    • Punishment play, especially unusual forms of discipline! (I don't like erotic spanking in and of itself, but spanking as punishment is great! And whatever interesting punishments you can come up with.)
    • Corner time, especially kneeling on rice/somehow having to display themselves/after a spanking.
    • In general, being put on display/having to put themselves on display.
    • Tickling! Both playful tickling and tickle torture (bondage + tickling = yessss).
    • Gags and other ways to prevent speech. And weirdly specific, but fingers of one character in the other's mouth.
    • Groping, especially pulling breasts out of tops (and sometimes letting them just hang there, if you're into humiliation).
    • Orgasm denial, especially chastity devices.
    • Fuck-or-die scenarios.
    • Creative bondage (including predicament bondage. No, strike that, especially predicament bondage, and especially if the predicament is partly psychological).
    • Similarly, ordering a partner to stay still/hold a certain pose.
    • Incest kink.
    • Hairpulling.
    • Directed masturbation (one character instructing the other how to masturbate).
    • Dirty talk (including long distance dirty talk).
    • Navels, inner things, ribs, and kinks for these body parts.
    • (Not really a like, but I'm afraid my AO3 bookmarks won't say much about my smut likes, because I have a separate account for smutty bookmarks. Sorry.)

    Darker Likes

    • Dark places and enchantments which entrap people without their knowledge
    • Getting lost in creepy surroundings
    • Corruption and decay
    • Explorations of the darker side of magic (or its equivalent), especially magic that's considered 'good'.
    • Exploration of the supernatural aspects of the canons.
    • Nature being eerily alive and dangerous.
    • Child soldiers, trauma, and really ugly, messy wars.
    • Characters trapped in vicious cycles.
    • Characters who think they're 'not good enough' for their partner(s).
    • Situations where characters are blackmailed/coerced into doing things they don't want to do.
    • Fucked-up families and friendships and relationships; people codependent to the point of almost-insanity, and far beyond anything healthy.
    • Looking into messed-up characters' thought processes.
    • Terrible things being done in the name of good by characters who see themselves as good.
    • Perversion of the 'good' side of magic to do evil things.
    • Mindfucks and powerplay.
    • Torture for the sake of torture, and characters being stoic through torture.
    • Noncon. I like both works focused on sexy (for fic purposes) noncon as well as more seriously-dealt with noncon and noncon aftermath.
    • Pregnancy due to F/F or M/M noncon.
    • Badtouch that doesn't lead to noncon, it's just there and creepy. (Especially when coupled with emotional fuckery and mindgames.)
    • Relationships where one characters is in love, but the other isn't.
    • Partners doing terrible things to each other.
    • Characters who hate themselves and lash out at the world and do fucked-up things as a result.
    • Really, really dark stories which end in the 'everyone dying' sort of tragedy.
    • AUs where everything goes wrong.
    • For darkfic especially, I love outsider PoVs—it makes everything 100% more terrible for me.

AU – Canon Divergence: see general likes and fandom sections.

AU – Genre Shift: in spaaaace ◎ different canon format (eg: musicals –> TV scripts) ◎ tone changes (eg: drama to comedy, tragedy to romance) ◎ crackification ◎ adding magic/supernatural elements to canons ◎ focusing on a different aspect of a story than the canon does

    Canon-Style Plot: probably self-explanatory.

Character Development: again, probably self-explanatory! I'd just love to see the characters grow and change (whether in personality or outlook or traits or opinions or ideology or attitude or...) through the fic. This doesn't have to be positive, either—characters regressing or going in a darker direction is also great.

Darkfic: see dedicated section in general likes.

Established Relationship: arguments and fights ○ vicious cycles ○ drama ○ compromising and learning to live together ○ date nights ○ banter and flirting ○ falling into bed together after a long day ○ characters organizing their lives around each other ○ unhealthy, obsessive relationships ○ smut ○ meeting the family ○ acquiring pets and/or kids and/or property

Fix-it fic: I think this is pretty self-explanatory.

Getting Together: meet-cutes (including canon divergence AUs) ◌ angst about each others' feelings ◌ obstacles that have to be overcome ◌ A is convinced B doesn't like them ◌ characters who haven't met in canon meeting for the first time ◌ fake dating leads to real dating ◌ fucking for the greater good ◌ something makes them do it ◌ enemies to lovers ◌ friends to lovers ◌ soulmate AUs ◌ reincarnation AUs ◌ slow burn ◌ hey I just met you this is crazy ◌ one night stands to lovers ◌ angst over not being allowed to be together ◌ A has been hurt by other people in the past and has to slowly fall for B ◌ unrequited love turning requited ◌ A falls for B, who's been nursing a crush on A since forever

Hurt/Comfort: noncon aftermath ◘ torture aftermath ◘ recovering from an abusive relationship ◘ other kinds of post-abuse trauma ◘ injury aftermath ◘ characters stitching themselves together ◘ partner/other person hurting character and then comforting them ◘ PTSD (in a canon-appropriate way) ◘ contrast between current gentleness and past violence ◘ the comfort not helping with certain instinctual reactions (touch aversion, flinching, hyperawareness, hypersensitivity etc.) ◘ comforter feeling helpless in the face of comfortee's issues ◘ two hurt/fucked-up characters trying to comfort each other ◘ attempts to comfort/make things better backfiring ◘ comfortee refusing to accept comfort

Interpersonal Drama: miscommunication ◍ wanting different things in life ◍ wanting different things from each other ◍ betrayal ◍ lying to friends/partners ◍ arguments ◍ blow-ups that have been a long time coming ◍ deliberate miscontsructions ◍ deliberately hurting each other ◍ unintentionally hurting each other

Mystery/Procedural: I'd love to see characters trying to solve a canon-typical mystery. If you want to entangle politics in with your mystery-solving I'd love that too!

Slice of Life: I love seeing glimpses into character's everyday lives in canon-appropriate ways. I love slice-of-life fics as insight into characters' backstories and histories, as well as as looks into their heads and as ways to figure out what's making them tick, or to make it clear that the characters' everyday lives are immensely atypical/fucked up. I also love these kinds of fic as worldbuilding vehicles.

    Smut: See smut likes.

Woldbuilding: See general likes and individual fandom sections.

AU - Canon Divergence, Angst, Darkfic, Established Relationship, Getting Together, Worldbuilding, Slice of Life, Mystery/Procedural, Canon-Style Plot – Freeform, Character Development, Interpersonal Drama, Hurt/Comfort, Action/Adventure, Smut

    • Can I just say 'I'd love absolutely ANYTHING for this fandom'? Because if I were to compile a complete list of everything I adore about Agent Carter I'd probably be here all day. I love all the characters and ship basically everything in Agent Carter.
    • I am ridiculously sad that the show was cancelled, so anything post-Season Two would be great.
    • Since I can't say 'anything' (or, well, I could but it wouldn't be helpful): I adore the secret spy shenanigans and Peggy's over-the-top badassery. All the secret agent things are ridiculously iddy for me.
    • I love the very human antagonists and the handwavey science of Season One, but I also love the supernatural elements (and obviously again handwavey science) of Season Two.
    • International conspiracies and shadowy spy organizations!
    • I love how magnified everything is (and I think Agent Carter is a lot more comics-style than the MCU).
    • I love that Peggy is arrogant and over-confident and dismissive and kind of an asshole. (Also a great person, but she has flaws that aren't tied to her being a woman and I adore that, and also Agent Carter was actually what made me ship Peggy/Steve because they are ridiculously similar and yet completely different.)
    • The humour! I love Peggy's deadpan humour especially.
    • I also love that Peggy is the only female agents in an organization of, um, male agents, and she faces and fights misogyny even after she's proved herself over and over again, but she also has lots of significant female relationships and there's no Exception To The Norm narrative.
    • I also love what little we got to see of Peggy with the Howling Commandos and how much more comfortable she is in the field than behind a desk.
    • The end of Season Two left so many threads open, but then Season Three didn't happen and I'm so disappointed. So maybe something set post-canon?

    group: Angie Martinelli/Peggy Carter

I love both Peggy and Angie so bloody much, and the actresses have great chemistry with each other, and Peggy's and Angie's dynamic in Season One really does read very much like a romantic subplot to me, so I ship them very, very hard.

Maybe something set post-Season One, Peggie and Angie finally acting on their feelings? Maybe kissing, maybe going out on a date together? Or, I'd also love to see them post-Season Two. You can just handwave away all the romantic plotlines if you want, or maybe Peggy and Sousa break up amicably eventually, just Peggy and Angie shenanigans, please. (And I know that Angie didn't appear in Season Two except for a cameo because the actress had scheduling conflicts, but I'm still disappointed, so if you go with an AU where Angie plays a bigger part in S2, I'd also love that.) Anything on how they get together would be great.

And I'd love to see what Angie thinks of Peggy's career in a super-secret organization, and how she adjusts to her girlfriend's...erratic work schedule, and the constant danger Peggy's—and by extension Angie's—life is in. And Peggy's not very good at finding a work-life balance, I imagine, so maybe something about that? Or maybe something about Angie finally getting her breakout Broadway role?

Or maybe the two of them just spending time together with each other, kissing lazily or bantering and flirting and exchanging horror stories about work together (a series of unfortunate events and their aftermath?), or having sex or dancing. Or maybe Peggy throwing herself in front of Angie to protect her from bullets/fists/etc.? (How does Angie become involved in the situation? Is it a mission gone wrong? Angie insisting on coming with Peggy on a mission? Would-be assassins at Peggy's door?) Or Angie helping Peggy solve a case/accidentally becoming involved in a case?

Or AUs where they met each other in different settings, maybe? (No modern AUs, please, but other than that go wild! I especially love Peggy hiding things from Angie and Angie getting hurt/exasperated by that, and Angie bullying her way into Peggy's life.) Or an AU where Angie accompanies Peggy to California?

    group: Dottie Underwood/Peggy Carter

I love both Peggy and Dottie a ridiculous amount, and as with Angie/Peggy, their actresses are both gorgeous, and they both have a ridiculous amount of chemistry. (And also the fact that they kissed in canon; or rather, Dottie noncon kissed Peggy. There's also that :D)

For this relationship, I'd love alllll the noncon or dubcon. Or just noncon kissing or badtouch, or one character tied up (or helpless in some other way) and at the other character's mercy. (Or both of them tied up, or both of them being non-con'd, or...)

I love the dynamic between Peggy and Dottie. I love that Peggy is the one person who really gets Dottie, when Dottie usually just manipulates everyone else, and I love the push/pull relationship they have going, where Dottie fights Peggy and wants to be Peggy at the same time, and where Peggy sees Dottie as her foe but also feels responsible for her, and they both respect each other as equals and rivals in a way their male colleagues don't. I love the cat-and-mouse (well, cat-and-cat, really) vibe they have going, and the fact that they end up opposite sides but team up anyway. I loved their interactions in both Season One (the flirting and the weird almost-love triangle between Angie, Peggy, and Dottie! The fight and 'I can be anything I want'! The kiss!) and, well, Season Two was pure gold for Dottie/Peggy (Peggy breaking Dottie out and finding her predictable! Dottie not betraying Peggy until she's forced to talk by Whitney Frost! Peggy coming for Dottie!).

Anything set at any point would be lovely; there's plenty of time for hatesex hookups between scenes. Or maybe post-canon, they find each other again, perhaps still rivals? Or maybe Dottie decides to go straight and Peggy helps her (and maybe that decision doesn't last)? Or an AU where they're somehow both on the same side from the beginning? (But the foeyay stays somehow.)

Or Dottie and Peggy forced into circumstances where they have to work together again, maybe? Or Dottie getting involved in something while Peggy's SHIELD Director?

    group: Howard Stark/Steve Rogers

I loved the whole idolization Howard had going for Steve in S1, and how much Steve factored into Howard's motivations, and Howard's search for Steve (it kills me that he kept looking even after all reasonable people would have stopped, after even Peggy stopped—that is not a man who has dealt with his grief), and I love that Howard has built Steve into a perfect person in his head. I am here for one-sided Howard/Steve as well as completely requited Howard/Steve and all the shades in-between.

Steve and Howard stealing a moment between missions for each other, maybe? Or Howard going out onto the field with Steve (and getting injured)? Either way, I'd love something that captures how fragile and fleeting their relationship would be in war (especially with the state of flux the army's attitude towards homosexuality was in in WWII, if you want to go in that direction, and if you want to do internalized homophobia that's be great). Or something playing with the fact that Steve is, essentially, Howard's creation? (Howard running tests on Steve/the serum? Possessive creepiness if you want to go in a darker direction?)

Or if you want to write lots of angst, I'd love angst! Howard collecting photographs and piles upon piles of mementos of Steve, maybe? Or looking at a photograph of Steve (or the two of them together) pinned up somewhere in his study/workroom or which he carries in his pocket? Or something about the search for Steve, how he looks and looks and never gives up? Or, less angstily, an AU where he somehow survives until Steve is discovered (and maybe even Steve being discovered sometime earlier?)

Or angst while Steve's alive would be great, too! Maybe Howard looking at Steve from afar and pining over him, or fucking other people to get Steve out of his mind only it doesn't help (and Steve stumbling upon him at some point), or they have sex but Steve doesn't love Howard, or Hydra releasing some sort of sex pollen that makes them fuck and then the aftermath of that when they realize what happened (and this last one can go a less angsty way too!)?

    Peggy Carter

Possible crossover canons/characters (gen or shippy): James Bond (female M from the Craig movies), Kingsman (Roxy Morton), Diana (2017 Wonder Woman movie), Emma Frost (X-Men Alternate Timeline movies), Moira MacTaggert (X-Men Alternate Timeline movies), Susan Pevensie (Narnia), Nymphadora Tonks (Harry Potter), Minerva McGonagall (Harry Potter), any of the Ghostbusters from the 2016 movie etc. (I've talked about about most of these things in my Crossovering letter.)

Unlike with Howard, I loved Peggy from TFA. Like with Howard, though, Agent Carter increased my love of her astronomically, to proportions I didn't know existed. She is my darling and I love her very, very much.

So, I don't really have a preference for whether the relationship between her and the following characters are gen or shippy: Angie, Ana Jarvis, Dottie, Jason, Maria (Hill), Michael (Carter), Natasha, Sharon (alll the incest, please), Steve, Violet, Whitney Frost. I prefer gen for Fury, Pierce (unless you want to go creepybadwrong badtouch with sexual undertones in which case be my guest), the Howling Commandos, Howard, Erskine, Colonel Phillips, Rose, fellow SSR agents (including Thompson and Sousa), Howard, Jarvis, her parents. If you want to write Peggy/Miriam Fry or Peggy/Wanda that'd also be great!

I love that Peggy has lots of significant female relationships! There's a big list of who I ship her with in the above paragraph, and I love all the different dynamics that she has with different characters. I'd love to see more of Peggy and Dottie's foeyay, either during canon or post canon, and how they're basically two sides of the same coin and the fact that Peggy's the only one who gets Dottie. Or Peggy and Angie flirting and being sweet and adorable together, post-canon or between S1 & S2, or maybe dealing with the consequences of Peggy's espionage career. Or Peggy and Sharon and their relationship. Or Peggy and Violet/Ana Jarvis bonding. Or Peggy visiting Whitney Frost in prison (or maybe fucking the zero matter out of her; there's also that. Or Whitney Frost menancing Peggy, I'm so disappointed we didn't get to see Peggy tied up by Whitney). Or Peggy over Ms. Fry's knee. Or a mentor/mentee thing with any of the MCU characters.

I adore how hardheaded and stubborn and independent Peggy is and how sometimes her reluctance to accept help is her greatest weakness, and I love her commitment to do the right thing at any cost whatsoever, and I love how ridiculously self-sacrificial she is, and also how she's very bad at social situations sometimes. (And tbh I ship Steve/Peggy because they're so similar yet different enough.)

I'd also love to see more of Peggy's childhood and her relationship with her parents and sibling (she and Michael seem to be the only children but if you want to create another sibling feel free to go ahead!). Did she enjoy school? Did she play any pranks on her parents?

I'd also love to see Peggy during the war. In her pre-SSR years, maybe something about her work at Bletchley Park? She's obviously very sharp and intelligent, so she must have been working on some of the tougher codes even then. Or maybe something more about how she's recruited to the SSR, and maybe something about her first missions? Or maybe how she met Colonel Phillips/Erskine/Howard/all three of them? And while, post-wartime, she was relegated to secretarial work, during the war she was obviously well-respected to the point where she was training supersoldier candidates—how did that come about? Or maybe her missions with Steve and the Howlies? Because I'd love to see her on the field and fighting with Steve and the Howlies.

Or maybe something post-canon? Maybe something about the founding of SHIELD and/or about Michael? Or maybe just the SSR agents solving a case together?

By the time of Agent Carter, Peggy doesn't really seem to have any friends outside of work other than Angie, and Angie basically bullied her way into Peggy's life—how did that happen? Was she always a loner, or was it a consequence of war? Maybe something about Peggy's childhood friends/acquaintances, or maybe the friends she acquires during and after Agent Carter, whether that's Angie and Rose and Howard and Jarvis or OFCs?

For art especially (but also fic), I'd enjoy seeing Peggy getting tied up and/or roughed up and thrown around, and I'd also love to see her in combat, especially hand-to-hand fighting. Or maybe her being mind controlled/drugged (or, Peggy + [female character, maybe Dottie or Angie] + sex pollen)? Or maybe she's being tortured for information/held hostage? Or maybe a mad scientist's experiment gone wild creates a monster which Peggy has to subdue? Or maybe she's sucked in by zero matter and discovers what's on the other side?

    Jane Drew/The Lady

Fandom-Specific DNW: I would prefer not to see explicit smut if you're writing canon-era or pre-canon fic, although smut is more than fine for post-canon fic.

I love the atmosphere of this world, and the use of real-world mythology, and the vivid setting and how the magic is grounded in the English countryside. I'm also curious as to the manifestations that magic takes in other countries. I adore the Wild Magic/Old Magic/High Magic distinctions, too, and I'd love to see more about that, although the unexplainability of the magic is one of the things I love, so.

And I also love how the magic is dangerous and untameable even when it's being used by the Old Ones for their purposes, and anything about that would also be very interesting. I love the Old Ones (and I'd love to see more about them other than Will and Merriman, because we only see very little of the vast roles the Old Ones must have played through history), and I love the figures of power who we don't really get to hear much about, and I'd be very interested in worldbuilding about the Old Ones and the Dark, and about the Old Ones' powers and how they fought the Dark.

And the ending of Silver on the Tree—one one hand, it utterly destroyed me, and I wouldn't mind seeing canon divergence AUs, but on the other, it does seem kind of fitting, to me, for this book, so whether you go with the ending or make it not happen or have Jane (and possibly Bran and the other Drews) get their memories back at some point in the future.

I loved Jane's and the Lady's interaction in Silver on the Tree so much! Jane and the Lady are my favourite characters, and I love that they interact and I love that they have the connection they have!

I love the 'you and I are much the same, Jane, Jana, Juno, Jane' bit, and I'd love more about that! Perhaps an exploration of their similarities? Or maybe something about the differences in their experiences and in their natures (and maybe something about mortality and immortality)? (And if incest is your thing (or you're writing gen) take the mother and daughter undertones and run with them!)

I'd also be interested in an AU where Jane is an Old One—there are so many possibilities there! Perhaps the Lady is to Jane what Merriman is to Will in canon? Or maybe Merriman plays the same role and so does the Lady (I'd be very interested in the scene with the candles and the Rider in this AU—how does this play into Jane's and the Lady's relationship? Does Jane bear any guilt for this?)?

Or, Jane seems to be the most in-touch with Wild Magic of the main characters, while the Lady is purely of High Magic, so maybe something about that? Or maybe the Greenwitch takes Jane into Tethis' realm and the Lady has to intervene to save her? Or maybe the Lady makes use of Jane's connection to the Wild Magic somehow? Wild, magic-induced orgies, anyone?

Or maybe somehow the Lady visits Jane post-canon, whether that's in the real world or in her dreams? Or maybe Jane is taken out of time for some reason, and that's how she meets the Lady?

I'd also enjoy seeing the other figures of power from canon. Jane and the Lady are my faves, but I also love most of the other characters and I'd love to see them, too, as side characters in whatever fic you're writing. I love Jane's relationship with her siblings in particular, as well as her friendship with will, and I also love what we see of Bran and Jane. The White Rider and the Black Rider are both interesting to me, as foes of the Light (and thus of the Lady), and I'd love to see them, too. And the Lady seems to occupy a special place among the Old Ones and I'd love to see more of that, too.

I would also be very much interested in a crossover where the Lady is/knows Xaphania from His Dark Materials, or any interaction with the Queen of Faery from Smith of Wootton Major or Varda from The Silmarillion, but, of course, that's completely optional. I'd also be very interested in, for example, a Smith of Wootton Major AU where the Lady is the Queen and Jane is Smith.

    group: Antiope/Diana, group: Antiope/Hippolyta, Group: Antiope/Hippolyta/Diana, Group: Hippolyta/Diana

I don't mind whether you keep Antiope's death or fix it. On one hand, it was an emotional moment in the film and central to Diana's motivations and lovely and tragic, but on the other, Antipoe is dead. So I'd love to seeHippolyta and/or Diana grieving for Antiope, but I'd also love to see a fix-it where Antiope lives.

I love the idea of an all-female band of warriors created specifically to bring peace to the world, so I adore the Amazons (although the pasting-on of some vaguely Hellenic trappings to a basically Judeo-Christian origin story kind of made me LOL). Anything to do with the Amazons would be wonderful!

Themyscira must be self-sustaining because it doesn't have any contact with the outside world, so it must have people other than warriors—farmers, weavers, potters etc. How does that work? Do the warriors do all of the above things, too? Or are there non-combatant Amazons? In which case, what are the attitudes from the warriors towards those non-combatants? And what role do Antiope and Hippolyta play in the organization of the everyday minutae of the island?

Something about their origins, maybe? Maybe something about their first battle against Ares and how they fought that? Or maybe something about Antiope and/or Hippolyta being created by Zeus? Or maybe something about the creation of Themyscira and the early days on the island, and the transition from peace to war? Or, does anyone ever get bored of Themyscira or restless to explore the outside world?.

For any variation on Antiope/Hippolyta(/Diana), I love the loyalty and power differentials at play. For Antiope and Hippolyta especially, I love the Queen and commander trope, and I'd love to see how their respective roles come into play in their relationship. .

I love people having each others' backs in battle, and people in the aftermath of battles, bloodied and bruised and exhausted. And for romantic/sexual relationships, I love battle couples. (Also, I feel like the Amazons would be great for if you want to go in the army of lovers direction.)

I love what we see of their relationships in the movie, and I want more. I'd love to see Antiope training Diana and Diana hero-worshipping Antiope, or Hippolyta and Diana clashing more as Diana grows older but also getting to know each other as people instead of just in their roles as mother and daughter, and in general the three of them spending time with each other.

Also, the strong hints towards the Amazons having sex with each other a lot are wonderful, and I'd love to see more about these arts of pleasure. Do they try out different instruments, try to hold of orgasming for some time (perhaps using certain devices to prevent self-pleasure), experiment with both rough and gentle sex? Do they invent sex toys? (Is there a whole trade in sex toys?)

With regard to incest, maybe the Amazons don't have an incest taboo? Or I have a huge thing for incest kink and the dirtybadwrong feeling and the shame that comes with it, so maybe they do? Or maybe 'sisters' is more in the sisters-in-arm sense? Or maybe, for the best of all worlds, they had an incest taboo in the beginning, but as time passed and they grew more and more disconnected from the mortal world, the taboo faded?

    • This is my newest fandom (I know, I know, how did I not get into Hamilton at some poi t during the last two and a half years? It's a long story) and I am still in the everything has a shiny glow and I LOVE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING stage, so you can't go wrong here. Seriously.
    • I'm still very very slowly going through fanworks so forgive me if my prompts are things that everyone has written/drawn at some point and is completely sick of by now.
    • I don't mind whatever level of historical accuracy you go with—history what history, kind of sort of accurate, as accurate as you can get within the confines of the show, whatever. (I'm basically finished with Chernow's Hamilton bio and moving on to the Washington one, so.) The only thing I ask is that you keep the things LMM changed.
    • Speaking of which, I really love the themes of how history will reflect you and how you're remembered is based on who tells your story that echo through the show.
    • For M/M and F/F (this is more fic-specific), I'd love to see period-typical homophobia and the sneaking around and near-discoveries etecetra that would result in.
    • For this show especially, I'm a fan of canon divergence AUs, alternate histories etc. Just all the what-if moments, please.
    • Also, genderswap! I'm very interested in what'd happen if any of the characters were of the opposite gender. Just please make sure that if you're switching genders for a M/M or F/F ship, you switch the genders of both characters unless I'm explicitly okay with it being otherwise.
    • Whatever cast you want to use (current Broadway/OBC/Chicago/West End etc.) to base descriptions off is fine! Just not actual historical figures' faces/appearances, please.

    group: Aaron Burr/George Washington

Okay, so the maybe thirty seconds in Right Hand Man are pure gold and, um, yeah. I ship it. Burr's eagerness to get into Washington's good graces! Washington's annoyance with Burr sucking up to him (and the fact that he rarely shows his annoyance but he did at to Burr)! Burr somehow managing to say the exact things which will piss him off! And 'close the door on your way out' following Burr's eager 'sir' is just...ughhhhh I love this pairing so much ♥.

I'd be interested in seeing Washington run into Burr at some point after he dismisses him so thoroughly. Does Burr show his resentment at Hamilton's rise in prominence, and does it anger Washington? Or maybe Washington is angry about a loss and Burr unintentionally aggravates him until he takes out his wrath on Burr, whether that's through words or violence or sex (or all three is good)?

Or maybe an AU where Washington meets Burr earlier? Does he still not like him very much? Or maybe Burr somehow becoming Washington's aid? (And maybe Burr's rivalry with Hamilton annoying Washington?)

Or maybe in Act II, Burr does get his wish to be at the right hand of the father, except not the way he imagined? He imagined himself standing, not on all fours, kneeling. Or any kind of political battle when Burr's Senator that ends in Burr being thoroughly tongue-lashed (and otherwise-lashed) by Washington?

Maybe something playing with how Burr brings out the worst/pettiest part of Washington, if that's your thing? And for art specifically, in addition to the things above, I love how Burr's all stiff and formal while Washington is still majestic as fuck but also less beholden to protocol, as it were, when they're talking, and I love the visual cues which all point to how much Burr is subordinated to Washington and how it's really Washington who's in charge here.

Alexander Hamilton & John Laurens & Gilbert du Motier Marquis de Lafayette & George Washington

Washington and his military family! I'd love to see more of Washington's relationships with his aides and officers. How did they first meet him and come into his inner circle? What is their position in the inner circle, and how do they view their own and each others' positions?

It's obvious in the musical that all of them cared for Washington, in their own way (even Laurens, who we see interact with Washington the least, leaped to Washington's defence in a duel), but these were clearly very different ways. Does this cause any issues? What ways do they show how much they care for Washington (obviously Hamilton being more repressed and in denial than the other two :D)? And does the difference between their positions (especially between Lafayette's position and Hamilton and Laurens being Washington's aides) cause any frictions between the three?

Alternately, maybe some of them*coughcough*Hamilton*coughcough* cared less for Washington than the others, and chafed over their positions/were annoyed by certain things? What kind of friction, if any, would this cause? Were there disagreements over 'you're being too distant and ungrateful' vs. 'you're being a suck-up', ? (Or maybe one/all of them really, really disliking Washington but sucking it up for the sake of the power that comes with the name?)

What does Washington think/feel about the three of them? Do they occasionally exasperate him? Do they cause a ruckus at camp sometimes (we didn't mean to sir it just happened)?

Ideas for specific scenes: riding into battle together, Washington giving them orders/dictating letters, the three of them defending Washington's honour and/or getting into a scrape and trying to hide it from him. Or, if you want to get super-fluffy, the four of them stuck in some remote shack/other cold place huddling for warmth, or Laurens, Lafayette, and Hamilton sprawled on the floor/all over each other working while Washington presides over them.

    group: Alexander Hamilton/Eliza Schuyler/George Washington/Alexander Hamilton

So, I was listening to Let it Go the other day, and turns out...I ship it. I ship it so, so much. Washington and Eliza tag-teaming Hamilton? The harmonizing? I am here with bells on.

I think there would be a pretty interesting dynamic here, because Hamilton is just this unstoppable force with negative impulse control, and Washington and Eliza are both just trying to get him to stop and think, albeit in completely different ways.

Maybe Meet Me Inside/That Would Be Enough angst, and the relationship starting out as a V with Hamilton in the middle and both Eliza and Washington being kind of resentful of each other but also frustrated by Hamilton? (I love That Would Be Enough to pieces—Eliza reaching out to Washington to get Hamilton home, the steel in her voice when she says "I'm not sorry", Hamilton's betrayal and anguish. And Meet Me Inside too, the conflict and Hamilton and Washington all up in each others' faces and not communicating at all. I think that'd be interesting to explore, especially with Hamilton feeling betrayed by what he perceives as Washington and Eliza ganging up on him. And there's also the fact that Eliza and Washington are part of a world which Hamilton is very, very new to, and class issues. And internalized homophobia and trying to figure out their dynamics with each other. And Hamilton and Washington knowing each other through the army and through command and politics in a way Eliza doesn't.)

Or, in Act II, anything to do with Eliza and Washington trying and failing to control Hamilton? And Act II angst, maybe? Or politics and nation-building and how that affects their relationship?

I love all the angst and miscommunication for this ship, but I do also love lots of smut. Or an AU where Eliza invites Washington upstate as a ploy to get Hamilton to come, and threesomes? Or Washington inviting Eliza and Hamilton to Mount Vernon? Or post-Yorktown 'yay we won' celebration? Or Washington helping Eliza and Hamilton to adjust to being parents, given that he adopted a shitton of kids and probably was used to taking care of kids? Or Eliza and Washington fucking Hamilton silly to stop him from doing something stupid? Or tying him down, literally? Or something about the wine cooler the Washingtons send to the Hamiltons as a 'sorry Eliza I know Hamilton fucked up' gift (yes I know I'm obsessed but that's such a hilarious moment)?

group: Alexander Hamilton & George Washington, group: Alexander Hamilton/George Washington

These two. Just—these two. I love their messy, strained dynamic, I love the whole mentor and reluctant mentee thing they have going on, and also Hamilton's utter loyalty to Washington despite rebuffing his attempts at closeness (call me son one more time!), and Washington seeing himself in Hamilton and relying so deeply on Hamilton, and the two of them growing to care for each other very much (and Washington being one of the few people outside Eliza and Angelica and Philip who Hamilton reacts to in a way that's all feelings), and everything about them, really. Especially the small things: Washington standing with Hamilton at his wedding in the musical (and the ItH callback with adjusting Hamilton's clothing like in 96000!), the salutes and Hamilton constantly looking at Washington whenever Washington's in a scene and not undercover (even in A Winter's Ball! Also the fact that Hamilton sticks to Washington even then, until Angelica comes back), the unmiked conversation during Non-Stop from the Hamiltome, both of them but especially Hamilton crying in One Last Time, Washington's look in The Reynolds Pamphlet. And 'Washington is staying the city' which is just...nngh.

I'd love to see anything about Hamilton's days serving under Washington as his aide. Did Washington scout him from afar and keep an eye on him before Hamilton was asked to be his aide? Does Washington attempt to get close to Hamilton but is rebuffed? (For platonic, only—if you're writing shipfic—and shippy art too though this is really more fic-specific—I'd love to see Washington restraining himself because internalized homophobia and rank differences and all the thousand different complication that would affect any potential relationship between them.) Maybe a scene where one of them is at the other's bedside when the other is sick/injured? Or maybe Washington and Hamilton working together on letters/documents? Or, and this is a very specific prompt, but post-Yorktown, does Hamilton witness Washington's reaction to Jacky's death?

Or when Washington becomes President, all the political intrigue! The two of them learning to work together in a more equal standing, Washington's annoyance with Hamilton's and Jefferson's catfights, an evening of political schmoozing, Hamilton accompanying Washington out on one of his morning rides? Or, for gen, Washington being Hamilton's actualfax father?

Also, maybe more on how Washington sees himself in Hamilton, or at least sees the mistakes he made? (Art idea: Washington looking at Hamilton while the ghost of young Washington lingers behind him?) And obviously Washington came from a much better-off background than Hamilton did, but he also climbed socially through marriage and war, and also Hamilton has one thing Washington was very keenly aware of his lack of—an education—so anything on that?

For smut: both 'punishment' and actual punishment (that could either turn into smut or not), Hamilton kneeling for Washington and boot-licking and boot worship, body worship on both sides of the equation, makeshift gags (Hamilton needs to learn to talk less!), Hamilton being tied up if there's time and they're in a private place, cock warming, orgasm denial, and just generally power dynamics and Washington controlling Hamilton (and I'm a huge fan of visual power dynamics for art: clothed Washington/unclothed Hamilton, Washington towering over Hamilton etc.). Also, not strictly smut, but maybe Washington and Hamilton fearing discovery and trying to be circumspect, or being discovered and the consequences of that.

    groupLAngelica Schuyler/Eliza Schuyler

Angelica's love for Eliza and how it's all-encompassing and the most important thing in her life is one of my favourite parts of the show. (I love my sister more than anything in this life I will choose her happiness over mine every time! And the dismissiveness of 'I'm not here for you', and just everything about their relationship ♥.) Either completely required Angelica/Eliza or unrequited Angelica->Eliza would be great.

I'd love to see Angelica and Eliza as young unmarried women—going to balls and seeking out suitors (and coming home and discussing or, for shippy stuff, discussing them, or a scene with the two of them dancing together after the ball?), sneaking out of the house to go downtown, reading pamphlets and writings together and getting caught up in the ideas and ideals of the Revolution. I want to know more about the two of them before they meet Hamilton, more about what kind of people they were.

Or after their marriages and their separation from each other, maybe something about the letters they wrote to each other? Or supporting each other through war and childbirth, even when it's from afar? Or, during Take a Break, what did Angelica and Eliza get up to upstate while Hamilton wasn't there? (Boating, walks, playing with the children, letting go of their decorum and climbing trees/getting all muddy, trading kisses, holding hands and picnicking where there's no-one to see, in bed together?) Or Angelica comforting Eliza and picking up the pieces after The Reynolds Pamphlet, maybe, or Angelica trying to comfort Eliza after Philip's death and the subsequent events? Or Eliza relying on Angelica after Hamilton's death, the two of them grieving for him and building something from his death? (And maybe getting together post-canon?)

Angelica angst! She's given up so much for her sister, so I'd love to see more on everything she's sacrificed. All the things she's given up lying behind her, fading into the background, while she's looking at Eliza and only Eliza?) Also, if you're up for Angelica->Eliza, maybe angst about how she would treat her sister so much better (Eliza is the best thing in our lives!), and how she's never going to have her? Or for both requited and unrequited shippiness, if you want to play with the taboo aspect of incest (angst! Guilt! Repression! Kinking on it being taboo/their similarities!) that'd be great too.

    group: Angelica Schuyler/George Washington

I needed only the five seconds Angelica and Washington dance together in Helpless and Satisfied to ship them together like burning. Also, Washington and Angelica have corresponded, and Washington knew Philip Schuyler, and Renee has played the Nala to Chris Jackson's Simba sometimes in Lion King, that is more than enough for me to fall down the rabbit hole of want. (Seriously, though, the fact that Angelica's the only woman Washington danced with at the ball, if I remember correctly, is ♥. And how gentle and dignified the dancing is! And how reverent Washington looks of Angelica when he's basically moving around her.)

So—anything about them meeting. Did they have any sort of conversation at the ball? Or maybe Washington knew Angelica as a child? Or did they keep up more correspondence that was lost? Or, after the war, did Angelica visit Washington for some reason? (Maybe a political reason?) Or maybe they meet at one of Martha Washington's parties?

For art, I'd just love to see more of the reverence and gentleness that's in their interactions with each other—the specific scene I don't mind being anything.

If you're up for AU ideas, Angelica dressing up as a man to join the army! Either gen or shippy would be very fun here—does Washington discover Angelica at all, or does Angelica manage to evade being detected? (Or genderswap where Washington is also a woman? And either the army somehow allows women for handwave reasons, or Washington managed to hide it all this time.) And I do think that their reactions to each other would be less reverent/composed/fitting into polite scoial mores if they met in any other situation or society than they did, so you can play with that if you want.

Smut things I'd love: gentle, reverent dom Washington would be great, worshipping Angelica (and driving her mad through teasing)! Or maybe she gets too fired up and needs to be disciplined?

    group: Elizabeth "Eliza" Schuyler/Maria Reynolds

Okay, so they've never even met in the musical, but spurned mistress/betrayed wife definitely has lots and lots and lots of potential, especially for all the angst-y and/or fucked-up art and fic (though if you want to take it in a more fluffy direction, I definitely won't complain, as long as there's still some angst!).

Something that strikes me is that, in addition to her lower social status, Maria Reynolds is so much younger than either Eliza or Hamilton. I'd love anything that plays with their different stauses, and the difference in their age and experience.

Maybe Eliza taking out her frustrations and anger on Maria, and/or punishing Maria for 'seducing' her husband? Which is what she thinks, obviously, you and I know that Hamilton is at fault. Whatever level of consent you want on Maria's part is fine! If humiliation is your thing, I would love that, and maybe figging and/or spanking? Or, if you don't want to go in the smutty hatesex direction but still want to write/draw tense, post-Reynold Pamphlet anger and power dynamics and angst and violence that'd also be great!

One thing I find interesting is that Eliza's condemnation of Hamilton isn't just 'you brought this girl into our bed', it's 'you told the whole world how you brought this girl into our bed', and also that Maria gives Hamilton a look but is otherwise completely silent. Of course this is completely optional, but, if you want to, I'd love to see how the Reynolds Pamphlet affects Eliza and Maria in ways, socially, politically, and personally, that it doesn't Hamilton because they're women, and them bonding over that.

Alternately, Eliza and Maria slowly falling for each other after Hamilton's death or after Eliza finds out about Hamilton's cheating and telling the whole world that he cheated? In this case, a sweet moment between them—in bed kissing, out walking or reading together, sewing together, watching over Eliza's children.

Or an AU where Maria finds Eliza instead of Hamilton, and Eliza is the one who cheats? Or an AU where Eliza and Hamilton cheat on each other simultaneously with Maria? Eliza would have to have an extremely intense connection to Maria and have enough factors combining to make her cheat, I think, so it would be hugely a matter of fate. How would that change things, and how would it not change things?

group: Eliza Schuyler & George Washington

This is another one of the 'what if these characters who've never met in canon meet in canon' requests. So: what if these characters who've never actually talked in the musical meet?

We know that Washington was at Eliza's and Hamilton's wedding (in the musical, IRL Hamilton's wedding was pretty sad honestly), and that since Philip Schuyler was one of Washington's generals he would've known Washington pretty well, and that Eliza admired Martha Washington very much and became friends with her, and also that Eliza wrote to Washington telling him about her pregnancy/probably begging him to come home. So, based on these facts, they knew each other. I want to know: how? How did they meet? How close were they? Was it just a one-off meeting, or did Washington and Eliza exchange letters a few times, at least? (She and Martha did, at least.) Did Eliza stay in camp for some time like many other women did, and if so, did she meet the general regularly?

This is one relationship where there's very, very little I know about their interactions and how they perceived each other, so basically: do whatever you want. I'd love to see, in particular, if Eliza is at camp, at a dinner-party or similar with the General or observing him at work. Or did Washington know Eliza because of her father, and did he think of that when it came to her engagement to Hamilton (and did he talk with Hamilton even a little about it)? Or, Eliza's letter to Washington asking him to send Hamilton home—was that the letter of a daughter of an old friend, or a letter of a near-stranger? Either way, that must've taken guts and sneakiness, so I'd love to see anything about that. Or, in Act II, Eliza hosting a dinner-party for the Washingtons, maybe? Or having a conversation with Washington while he's out riding, or when she goes to the President's house to meet her husband, who's working there?

Long-distance communication—one of them reading the other's letters? Or, again, anything about them talking together, somehwere. Or, Washington being all gentlemanly and dancing (in a fatherly platonic way) with Eliza at the ball where she met Hamilton or at any other ball?

group: George Washington/Gilbert du Motier Marquis de Lafayette

This is another ship based on the thirty seconds in Guns and Ships between Lafayette and Washington, and also based on the fact that Lafayette and Washington were by all amounts crazy close (I mean, Georges Washington Lafayette? And also Washington almost fucking the entire war up by entrusting Lafayette with a command that was diplomatically iffy? Yeah, sign me the fuck up). The way Lafayette is ridiculously informal with Washington (his salute is so so sloppy), the way he's all up in Washington's personal space and they stand reaaaally close together, the way Lafayette basically respectfully orders Washington to get Hamilton back (the way Daveed say 'but' on the OCR, I wish I could convey how many feels that word sends through me)—all of them point to the fact that I now ship the two of them very, very much.

So, yeah. Anything set during the Revolutionary War would be great. I'd love to see the rapport and trust between them (maybe even through and outsider's eyes?). Do they work very well with each other? Does Washington become afraid of what he's sending Lafayette off to do sometimes, that maybe he's sending him to his death (but sends him off anyway, because his country's need > any one person, no matter how much Washington cares about that person)? Do they clash over policies sometimes, get frustrated with each other? (Clashes due to cultural differences, maybe?) Or, in Act II, does Lafayette get frustrated and feel betrayed by Washington's decision not to intervene in France? What goes through his mind when he sends Georges off to Washington? Anything else political?

Also, Lafayette basically seeing Washington as a father-figure? Play with that if you want to, and go as dirtybadwrong as you want to. Washington being conflicted about his feelings towards Lafayette, and angst. Power dynamics (Washington's Lafayette commanding officer, after all), and everything else. (Does Washington ever have to punish Lafayette for a transgression, or calm him down if he's too jittery/excited?)

Maybe Washington greeting Lafayette when he comes back to camp, or sending him off? Or maybe a private moment between the two of them—in Washington's study, in his workroom, in the forest where no-one can see—where they let down their guards, kissing or just leaning against each other, or massages? Or maybe a quiet moment between the two of them, but in the midst of battle/otherwise surrounded by others? Or Lafayette foiling a plot on Washington's life? Being almost discovered by someone, or actually discovered, and if the latter, does that change anything? Or if you want to go very angsty, Lafayette visiting Washington's grave when he comes back to America years and years and years later?

Please no Bucky/Natasha, Bucky/Shuri, Wanda/Vision, and Loki/anyone especially.
    • There's such a vast world to play in in the MCU, and so much of the characters' lives we don't know about because of the way time works in the movies! There's a lot of room for exploration and worldbuilding. My favourite MCU movies are the Cap movies, and I'd love to see what happens between them (and the. Avengers movies)! Between Avengers & TWS, between TWS & AoU, between AoU & CW—I'm really curious as to what happens in the in-between years where obviously important stuff has happened. I also really, really love Black Panther now ♥.
    • I'm very interested in politics for this fandom, because so much of the storyline is influenced by in-world politics which we don't get to see. For example, HYDRA's ideology, the politics behind the US supersoldier program, Project Insight being authorized, the Accords—there's so much to explore.
    • CW brought up some interesting questions about the fact that the majority of the problems the Avengers deal with are things they've caused, albeit sometimes necessarily, so maybe something about that.
    • And T'Challa operating in a foreign country without its permission in BP, and the fact that Wakanda isn't perfect and it's basically turned its back on the rest of the world is very interesting. Wakandan politics/worldbuilding in general is great, but the question of how and when to intervene espeically.
    • For this fandom especially I'd love to see outsider POVs, whether that be people who are working closely with the characters or people who only see the characters on TV.
    • I love the sheer scale of the events of the movies, so maybe something about that?
    • There's a common thread of the end not justifying the means across the Cap movies, so something about that, maybe?
    • With so many supervillains floating around, there's plenty of room for lots of H/C (or H without C) with characters being captured and tortured and injured.
    • I love fun and asskicking and just superheroes being superheroes too.
    • I adore the fact that the characters have very individual senses of humour!
    • Other things I'm not fond of include AoS in general, the way AoS handled SHIELD in particular, all the Avengers living at the Avengers tower (especially post-Avengers but pre-TWS; I don't really mind pre-AoU since there's some element of canon to it).

    Group: Erik Killmonger/T'Challa

I came out of Black Panther shipping them like burning because holy fuck. Holy fuck. I love their dynamics in the movie, and it helps that both actors are ridiculously attractive.

I love the tragedy of Erik's story (T'Challa's in relation to Erik's too), how he's become a monster because of a harsh, unforgiving world, and I love the inevitability of his death and the terrible waste and tragedy of his life, and I love that he was at least partially right. And I love that he's a dark mirror of T'Challa and of Wakanda, reflecting all the ugly parts of Wakanda that the characters from Wakanda don't want to see.

What if N'Jadaka had been brought to Wakanda, either by his father or after his father died by Zuri or T'Chaka? Or what if his father hadn't died, somehow? What would change, and what wouldn't? How would that change his dynamic with T'Challa? Would they have grown up as cousins, on friendlier terms, and worked together?

Or what if T'Challa somehow makes Erik live? (Or he lives through the intervention of the heart-shaped herb?) Does he stand trial for his crimes? How does he react to his non-death and to T'Challa? What does he think of T'Challa's outreach efforts? Does he eventually find peace, or does he always remain restless and angry, at T'Challa and at Wakanda? (And does hatesex happen if so or is it all UST?)

What would have happened if T'Challa and Erik had met earlier, before Erik was ready to set his plans in motion, maybe even before T'Chaka dies? Would that have changed anything? Or would the story have spiralled towards eventual tragedy anyway? Or maybe an AU where T'Challa is captured instead of 'killed', or they kiss/fuck at some point during the story.

Most ProblematicTM request: I would love to see Erik tied up preferably in chains at T'Challa's feet and/or T'Challa gently domming the fuck out of Erik, if that's your thing, or Erik shoving T'Challa around. Or angry, rough, bruising sex, please, with or without panther suits!

    group: Nakia/Okoye

I have a Thing for soldier/spy, and Nakia and Okoye's interactions in the movie are wonderful (the car chase! The argument! The hug!), so I ship them like burning (and also because they're attractive I have simple needs okay).

They fight so well together and they seem to be so in sync with each other and know where the other is moving in their fight scenes—do they train a lot together? Do they help each other out during training (because they both have different areas of expertise)? Do training sessions devolve into something else? (Is there torture resistance training? Endurance training?) Or the two of them on a mission together, maybe, post-canon or pre-canon, the War Dogs and Dora Milaje working with each other for Reasons?

Or maybe Nakia training to be one of the Dora Milaje until she eventually decides to follow another path? (Would Okoye see this as a betrayal perhaps? Angst would be lovely either way.)

I love that they're so different from each other, and that they have clear ideological differences but still respect and care for each other. (The scene in the throne room was just damn. Speaking of which, what would happen in an AU where Killmonger's plans took longer to be set in motion and Nakia et al hid out with the Jabari and formed a resistance? Would Okoye remain loyal to N'Jadaka, and angst because of that, or would Okoye eventually defect, maybe along with some of the other Dora Milaje?)

Or post-canon (or pre-canon), the two of them clashing because of Okoye's more isolationist stance, while Nakia is more of a bleeding heart? The two of them learning to reconcile their ideological differences?

group: Natasha Romanov & Steve Rogers

It is absolutely ridiculous how much I love these two, and how much I love gen about these two. I'd love to see them at any point in time. Pre-TWS, Steve and Natasha do have some sort of rapport going, but it becomes clear that Steve didn't trust her fully at that point; maybe something about that? Or maybe the two of them post-TWS (because I'm really curious as to what happened between TWS and AoU)? Or Natasha and Steve with the Avengers post-AoU? Or the two of them on the run post-CW and engaged in their down-low missions, coming to understandings and regaining their trust in each other?

I just love their banter and how well, in CW, they know each other, and how very well they work together, and their similarities and differences, and most of all, I just love that they get each other. Anything about their similarities and differences would be great! Since both of them were (are) considered basically weapons, and they're both deadly and dangerous, but in completely different ways. (In particular, I find their views on loyalty and personal attachment very very interesting.)

Or the two of them together on a mission, maybe? Because TWS made it very very clear how deadly and effective the two of them are together, and more so if the mission is personal, so I'd love to see them kick ass, with or without stopping to take names.

And I love the two of them opening up very very slowly to each other, so anything about that would be great, about the masks and defences they both have, in very different ways, and letting each other in. Or pre- or post-AoU after they've become comfortable with each other (outsider PoV?) or rebuilding their relationship post-CW.

    group: Natasha Romanov/Peggy Carter

Spies and spying and spy shenanigans! Just everything to do with intelligence agencies and intragency policies and politics and foeyay and/or mentor/mentee, please.

Maybe Peggy supervises Natasha's defection to SHIELD? Natasha defects because of Peggy, maybe? Or maybe they have a foeyay thing going and Peggy manages to convince Natasha? Or Peggy seduces Natasha over to SHIELD?

Or Natasha visits Peggy in her nursing home, maybe? Advice dispensing, banter, gentle kissing, angst?

Or, if you're okay with background Peggy/Dottie, Peggy watches Natasha from afar and thinks of how similar she is to Dottie, maybe? Or Peggy's relationship with Natasha starts as Natasha being some kind of substitute for Dottie? (And either it remains fucked up or Peggy falls for Nat as Nat eventually.)

Or maybe an AU where they're closer in age to each other? (But with some kind of age gap still, please, the larger the better.) Maybe Cold War era rivalry with spy shenanigans? Thwarting each other's plans, fighting each other, kissing each other as a distraction technique, accidentally(-on-purpose) falling into bed together.

Or any kind of foeyay, really, I don't mind.

    group: Natasha Romanov/Sharon Carter

So, basically all my MCU pairings are 'I love these characters and I think the actresses are gorgeous and they'd work well together', and Natasha/Sharon isn't an exception. (And Nat and Sharon are just great characters, and I wish we'd seen more of Sharon especially, and Nat too in CA:CW.)

They both work for super-secret government agencies (the same super-secret government agency, even, at one point!) but they have very different pasts and very different skillsets and I'd love to see anything to do with that. Sharon being the Director and founder of SHIELD's granddaughter vs. Natasha being a Russian assassin and a lot more of an outsider is a very interesting contrast, in my opinion.

I also think that they probably have very different worldviews, given how they were brought into SHIELD and their roles at SHIELD, and I'd love to see anything about that. Or, post-TWS, they probably both have mixed feelings about the fall of SHIELD (that thing in AoU didn't happen shut up), but different kinds of mixed feelings, and I'd love to see more about that. Or, during Civil War, the two of them are probably the most sane people around, except maybe T'Chaka, (but, again, they do what they do for completely different reasons), and by the end of CW, Nat is on the run while Sharon isn't. (Though I can't see that lasting for long if Sharon's role in the whole fiasco is discovered.)

So maybe post-TWS or post-AoU, the two of them on some mission together? Or maybe they stumble upon each other by accident in some mundane place? Or maybe pre-TWS, they're on a SHIELD mission together, or maybe Sharon's the one who brings Nat into SHIELD (and she's on Steve-duty because Nat asked her to)? Or post-CW, them on the run together, possibly Nat rescuing Sharon after she's been discovered and arrested? Or Sharon still holding her position and helping Nat & co secretly?

    group: Natasha Romanov/Wanda Maximoff

My reasons for shipping them are basically, again, that I love the characters, think the actresses are beautiful, and think that they'd work well together.

I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't get to see Natasha and Wanda interact much, as the only two female Avengers at that point. Wanda in particular has significant relationships with both Steve and Clint, who relate to her in one way or another and they've had experiences similar to hers in one way or another. So the lack of interaction with Natasha is kind of disappointing, since I think Natasha would understand Wanda's determination to make up for her past very much, and also understand how she came to work with Ultron.

But, at the same time, post-CW I think Wanda would be wary of Natasha, because Natasha was Team Iron Man for some time, and I think Wanda would see them as a huge part of the reason that she was in the Raft, where she was basically tortured (I mean, Team IM didn't have any part in the Raft in canon, not even Tony really, but Wanda doesn't do that).

And I love both Nat and Wanda as Avengers, so I'd love to see how they and their relationship fit with the rest of the group, either post-AoU or post-CW.

So, maybe the two of them on the run together post-CW, maybe along with the rest of the Avengers? Maybe Nat helps Steve break into the Raft? Or maybe an AU where Natasha is the one who breaks Wanda out of house arrest? Or maybe the two of them on an Avengers mission pre-CW? I'd just love to see the two of them together, art or fic, in any way or form.

    group: Sam Wilson/Steve Rogers

I love everything about these two, from their first meeting in TWS (the two of them bonding, their similar experiences (shared life experiences), the very unsubtle flirting and checking out going on on both sides) to Steve breaking Sam out of the Raft in CW (that smile on Sam's face, like he knew it was only a matter of time before Steve came).

I love their banter, and I love that Sam is so done with everyone's bullshit, especially in CW, and I love that even though Sam has got Steve's back, he's got his own reasons and isn't just blindly following Cap and I love the 'I do what he does, but slower' thing.

So, well, basically anything, but if you want more specific, maybe Steve breaking Sam out of the Raft post-CW, or Steve and Sam post-AoU but pre-CW? Or maybe the two of them on date, somewhere, and more flirting and checking each other out?

Or maybe an AU where they meet earlier or later—how does that affect the events of the movies, and how does that affect their relationship? What would the circumstances of their meeting be—through the army, somehow, or still an accidental meeting perhaps while Steve is chased by assassins?

Or maybe post-CW, both of them together still being adrenaline junkies and jumping headfirst into every situation they come across?

group: Steve Rogers & Allied soldiers, group: Steve Rogers & Howling Commandos

These are all requests for WWII-era Steve—he's very much a soldier by Avengers, and I'd like to see him with his fellow soldiers in his own time. I'd love to see operations and missions, and how they were handled.

How did the Howling Commandos function as a unit? How well did Steve and Colonel Phillips work together, given Steve's propensity for obeying orders right up until he doesn't, and the fact that they got off on the wrong foot? How do the Allied soldiers they come across while on missions react to Steve and the Commandos? How do the higher-ups at Allied command deal with a supersoldier and his capabilities? How are the bureaucracies of a supersoldier handled?

While Steve was mostly another soldier (albeit a tactical genius who has super-strength) at that point, his legend was already being created, so how does that affect his interactions with the other soldiers? Do they look up to him because they've heard of what he's done in the field? Do they laugh at him in the early days when they still think he's a dancing monkey? How does all of this affect Steve?

And how does Steve lead? How does he get people to follow him, and what kind of captain is he? How does he adjust to his new body and to his new role and position, and how does this seem from the outside? How deadly is he in the field, and is he willing to do what he has to and kill who he has to for his country? Is he sometimes a lab-rat for over-eager doctors? Is he sometimes captured on purpose as a Trojan horse of kinds?

group: Steve Rogers & Wanda Maximoff

If there's one thing both Steve and Wanda have it's shared life experiences. Both of them are uniquely positioned to know what the other has gone through. (And I love that Steve understands the twins even before he meets them. Letting a German scientist experiment on you for your country is one way of forming a very small, very exclusive group of people! And also by being created as a weapon for the cause you're fighting for, and being seen as a weapon forever afterwards.) And I love that Wanda doesn't have any second thoughts or hesitations about joining Steve in CW.

Steve mentoring Wanda when she first joins the Avengers! I love Steve in tough love mode in Civil War, so more of that, more of Steve's mentorship and the kind of paternal-but-not-quite role he seems to play with Wanda would be great. Or anything about Steve

Or Steve breaking Wanda out of the Raft/going on the run together, maybe? I'd love to see what they do with themselves between CW and IW—do they go into deep cover? Do they still help people out, or do they go completely to ground and stop using their powers? H/C in the aftermath of Wanda's imprisonment would also be great, if you want to go in that direction.

Or maybe they explore how Wanda's powers work? Or any other post-AoU training or experimenting, or post-Civil War?

    Brunnhilde | Valkyrie

Valkyrie was my favourite part of Ragnarok, and I love her a lot! Basically anything about her would be great. I love that she's an asshole and has done not-nice things and is generally an imperfect person.

I'd love to see her with the other Valkyries pre-Hela, or her unnamed dead lover. I do think the Valkyries would have been part of Odin's empire-building efforts, so if you want to play with that (and the implications of that), that would be great! I'd also just love to see Valkyrie training with her fellow warriors (what was their fighting style like? Their traditions and stories? Their rituals?), Valkyrie riding out to war, or Valkyrie and the other Valkyries during a downtime moment. Or their last desperate battle against Hela, or her past and her role in the mythology of Asgard—all of that would be great. I'd love to see more about the warrior culture of Asgard and Asgard's history (and how all the blood has been obliterated from its stories) if you want to go in the worldbuilding direction.

Or anything about Valkyrie and her lover. How did they meet? What was their courtship like? What does it feel like to fight alongside your partner? (Army of lovers and all that—were the Valkyries an all-female all-lesbian/bi group?) How serious were they when the lover died—was it just starting out or were they long-time partners? Maybe an AU where the partner doesn't die and she and Valkyrie go into exile together.

Hela! I was so disappointed Hela and Valkyrie didn't get an epic showdown or at least an emotional moment, so anything about the two of them would be great, gen or shippy. Did Valkyrie know Hela before she decided to defy Odin? Were they friends or not? Did she ever encounter Hela when they were both in exile? Or maybe an AU where Hela captures Valkyrie and/or Valkyrie gets to take revenge on Hela?

Or anything about Valkyrie's time on Sakaar would also be great. Maybe how she first ended up there? Or maybe her work with the Grandmaster? (Was she brought in by Topaz and served Topaz until she earned her freedom?) How did she meet the Hulk? (Anything about her and the Hulk really—they're adorable—and maybe learning Bruce in the way she knows the Hulk?)

What was her childhood on Asgard like? Did she have any siblings? Who were her parents? How was she chosen to join the Valkyrie?

Valkyrie meeting Steve and/or Peggy would be very, very entertaining and lots of fun, if that's your thing. Or meeting Natasha! Or Shuri, or Okoye, or...

Or Sif/Valkyrie! (Or Sif and Valkyrie gen.) Sif had a difficult time time becoming a female warrior in Asgard, IIRC, so what does she think meeting this female warrior out of the legends of old? Is she kind of disappointed by Valkyrie, or is the hero-worship shine still there? Do they get a chance to fight back-to-back?

    Nakia

Nakia! Lupita Nyong'o is insanely attractive and Nakia is just my character type, so she hit my id in all the right places. Anything and everything about her would be great.

I'd love to see Nakia on a War Dog mission, maybe alone, maybe with a team, in action and solving a problem/tracking a person or thing/any other mission you can think of. Or I'd love to see her training and her induction into the War Dogs. How did she get in? What is the training like? Was she initially training to be one of the Dora Milaje? If so, why did she choose not to become one of the Dora Milaje, and why did she become a War Dog instead?

Nakia's childhood! I'd love to see what Nakia's childhood was like, who her parents are and who she spent time with, and anything about bb!Nakia, really. Or as a teenager—maybe teenage!Nakia/her first girlfriend?

Or Nakia/T'Challa—pre-canon flirting and banter and getting together and breaking up (how long were they together before they broke up?) would be great, as would going on a mission and/or having each other's backs. Or their first meeting! I'd also love to see post-canon established relationship missions and diplomatic shenanigans, and Nakia learning to deal with being with the King of Wakanda and all that entails, and learning to fit into her role there (or deciding it isn't for her—if you want to do bittersweet partings I'm also down for that!). I love that Nakia is a lot more worldly than T'Challa and much less naïve, and I'd love to see anything about that difference if that's your thing.

In general, I'd love to see Nakia after the borders of Wakanda have opened, practising diplomacy, perhaps, but also keeping an eye on Wakanda's security and making sure that Wakanda's sovereignty remains intact.

Or anything do with her interacting with any of the Avengers—I'd love to see her with Natasha in particular, since they're both spies, even if completely different people, so how do they get on with each other? Or maybe Steve, just because I'm curious as to how she'd react to him. (Either post-BP or when he's in Wakanda with Bucky.) Or, Wanda or Sam or Rhodey or Thor or...you get my point. Just all the Nakia, please!

Or Nakia and Ramonda, whether femslash or gen! I love Nakia and I love Ramonda, so I'd love to see them pre-canon or post-canon, bonding in any way. Or an AU where T'Challa actually deis and M'Baku declines the heart-shaped herb so Nakia takes it, and Ramonda advising Nakia while Nakia organizing a resistance against Killmonger from the Jabari's lands?

Basically, any AU where Nakia took the heart-shaped herb. (Or didn't, and T'Challa still lived and/or she formed an uneasy alliance with M'Baku, but Killmonger took more than 6 hours to launch his plans.)

Or Nakia/Okoye! (See pairing prompts, please.) Or Nakia and Shuri! (Please see the Shuri section.)

    Okoye

Okoye! The moment I saw Okoye onscreen, I fell in love. That armour, like damn. Damn. So. Anything about her would be great, whatever you want to write.

The Dora Milaje! Dora Milaje worldbuilding would be lovely. What are their traditions like? What is the selection process, and how does one become qualified enough to get to that point? How difficult is it to rise through the ranks? What is their training like, and what are their duties? How much of it is diplomacy/politics vs. actual fighting, and how does that ratio change post-movie, once T'Challa opens Wakanda's borders? What duties does Okoye have as the General of Wakanda? What do the Dora Milaje do in their downtime, and what are their relationships like with each other? (Does Okoye have a girlfriend who's one of the Dora Milaje?)

I love that Okoye's loyalty is to Wakanda and to the throne, not to any one person, but I also love that when she realizes she's wrong she changes her mind. So, anything to do with that, with Dora Milaje's loyalty and how that's defined, would be great.

Or Okoye and T'Challa! I'd love to see their banter and friendship and the complications the throne causes in their relationship. Pre-canon banter and getting to know each other would be great, as would post-canon, sorting through the tangled mess that Killmonger caused and trying to figure out how to heal Wakanda while opening their borders (with Okoye still being staunchly opposed to that if you like). And anything about the relationship between a King and his General, especially when the King is also a fighter, so how do chains of command work. Or an AU where T'Challa lives but hides out and doesn't immediately attack Killmonger because Killmonger doesn't immediately launch his plans and T'Challa takes longer to heal, for whatever reason. Does Okoye's allegiance change once she realizes Killmonger's true purpose? How does T'Challa deal with Okoye's allegiances and motivations?

I'd love Okoye/W'Kabi just on looks alone (Daniel Kaluuya + Danai Gurira = SO MUCH YES) but I also love their dynamic in the film so, so much. I love that Okoye and W'Kabi have huge differences in ideology and they literally go to war over it, but I also love Okoye seducing W'Kabi's war-mount ;). I'd love either pre-canon get-together/flirting or post-canon, attempting reconciliation with each other and facing up to and dealing with what happened during the movie.

I'd also love to see Okoye interacting with Steve or Valkyrie or Peggy. The similarities (all of them are bruisers; Peggy, Steve, and Okoye all have very strong convictions) but also their differences would be interesting to explore.

Shuri and Okoye prompts in the Shuri section below. Nakia/Okoye prompts in the Nakia/Okoye section above.

    Shuri

Goddamn is Letitia Wright an awesome actress. I love her exuberance and her genius and she’s just such a shining presence on screen. I love her so much, and her entrance made everything just more light and bubbly and fun, she is such a darling.

I'd love anything to do with her being a tech genius! I'd love to see her in her lab, making breakthroughs or inventing something or just messing around, experimenting. Or a day where everything goes spectacularly wrong (setting her lab on fire accidentally? A prototype exploding? Or more spy-style shenanigans where someone steals priceless, dangerous tech from her lab and it has to be hunted down?).

I'd love to see her and T'Challa! I love their banter in BP, and they are such an adorable pair of siblings. I'd love to see them in their childhood (or rather, Shuri's childhood while T'Challa is a teenager, I think), and pleasant memories of those times. Or, as Shuri becomes a teenager, them becoming friends and bantering with and teasing each other? Or Shuri developing tech for T'Challa for a mission, or being tech support on a mission? Or the two of them dealing with Wakanda's political situation, both globally and in-country, and cleaning up Killmonger's messes post-BP?

Or Shuri and Ramonda! Shuri and Ramonda seem to love each other very much and get on with each other, but beyond that we don't really know anything about their relationship—whatever you want to write about them would be great! Just tell me more about their lives and their relationship with each other, please. Does Ramonda approve of Shuri's tech genius and what she does with it? Does she join Shuri in Wakandan diplomacy post-CW?

Nakia! I'd love any kind of interaction between Shuri and Nakia, and I'd love to see more of the friendship they have. Does Shuri help out with War Dog missions? For how long has Nakia knows the Royal Family? Post-BP, do Shuri and Nakia go on aid missions together as diplomatic envoys of Wakanda? I love Nakia coming to Shuri's rescue in the final fight; anything similar would also be great. (I wouldn't be opposed to Nakia/Shuri femslash if you can make it work/)

Shuri and Okoye interaction would also be wonderful! I love Okoye's and Shuri's gentle teasing of T'Challa, and I love the rapport that they have going. Does Shuri outfit the Dora Milaje? Does she train with them occasionally? (Is it a royal tradition for the Princesses of Wakanda to be trained with the Dora Milaje?)

Shuri/Jane would also be great, if that's your thing! Or Shuri/Valkyrie, perhaps? Or Shuri and Thor? Or Shuri and Steve? Or Shuri and Natasha? Or Shuri and Wanda? (Or the femslash version of these two.) For the last three, we know they're been/will be in Wakanda at some point, so how do they react to each other? Is Shuri the one who designs Steve's new shield? Does Shuri help with Natasha's disguise? Does she try to figure out how Wanda's powers work?

    T'Challa

Confession: I spoiled myself very very thoroughly for this film, so I thought going in that T'Challa would be bland. But turns out I love him so much and it certainly helps that Chadwick Boseman suffers so prettily

I love that he is a very privileged person from a very privileged background and has to learn to see beyond that, and I love alllllll the shifting power dynamics in the movie, and basically anything to do with that would be great. (My thoughts on Black Panther are here on Tumblr if you feel like taking a poke, though of course I would love whatever interpretation you choose to write so don't feel obliged to read it, because, uh, it's kind of ridiculously long.)

I'd love to see more about his relationship with T'Chaka. Obviously he admired him and revered him when he was younger, and I'd love to see more of that, maybe mentorship and T'Chaka teaching T'Challa to be a king. I'd also love to see T'Challa grieving for T'Chaka and/or trying to reconcile his memories of his father with who his father actually was, post-movie, and coming to terms with his imperfections. (It's interesting to me that T'Chaka, in his later years, decided to do the very thing he shot N'Jobu for trying to do, and it's a strange kind of irony that he was shot in the UN while trying to bring Wakanda into the outer world; if you want to explore how T'Challa reacts to that and how that shapes T'Challa's decisions that would be great, too!)

While we know Ramonda and T'Challa have a good relationship we don't really see as much of it as we do of T'Chaka's and T'Challa's relationship, so I'd love to see more of their relationship. Ramonda standing with T'Challa and helping him to grow into his role as king, grieving with T'Challa for T'Chaka, or younger T'Challa and Ramonda would all be great.

There's so much work to be done, post-canon, and I'd love to see any of the difficult politicking and policy-making that T'Challa's facing. Wakanda essentially rejected him as king—how does he bring it together again and bring it into the outer world while defending it from the outer world too?

And I'd love to see worldbuilding about Wakanda—what are their traditions and what's the heart of their culture? What is their economy like? What kind of relationship is there between the tribes? What are their social mores? (Would it be acceptable for their king to marry a man? M'Baku/T'Challa or T'Challa/OMC would be great!)

Also, if you watched the IW trailers, holy shit do I ship Steve/T'Challa now. I'd love to see them in Wakanda post-CW, reconciling and talking things out (or not talking things out), and/or Steve dropping in to say hi while he's out undercover with Natasha! Or I'd love to see T'Challa calling Steve to Wakanda for some kind of mission.

See the Okoye section for Okoye and T'Challa, the Shuri section for Shuri and T'Challa, the Erik/T'Challa section for Erik/T'Challa, and the Nakia section for Nakia/T'Challa prompts, please.

    Original Works

    Navigation

Action/Adventure, Angst, Character Development, Darkfic, Established Relationship, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Interpersonal Drama, Mystery/Procedural, Sci-fi/fantasy, Slice of Life, Smut, Worldbuilding

Because original works is so different from my other requests my prompts are going to be very different for this section than for the other sections. Most of the stuff I like are mentioned in the 'general likes' section and the genre sections (because mostly for this section I'd just love anything that's remotely related to my likes, so let your id run free). There'll be 4-6 short prompts in bullet points for each pairing instead of a long paragraph because of that.

Group: 1940s Homefront Woman/1940s Radio Actress

    • I'm thinking WWII-era for this pairing, but if you have other ideas for post-1945 stuff I'd love that too.
    • The homefront woman would have to be working somewhere in a big city for them to meet—what job does she do? Working in a munitions factory? A secretary? Is she involved in codebreaking and other intelligence work? Or is she a land girl or something similar, and meets the actress while the actress is touring?
    • I love 'what was it like in this period' type fic, with day-to-day life details and how they lived and their fears and hopes and aspirations. In particular, what was it like being working women who went out with other girls?
    • Are they experienced with other women or is it their first time? What backgrounds are they from? How much experience do they have of the world and how does that translate into their lives?
    • What are their first meeting, dates, growing together moments like? Do they eventually move in together, and how do they handle that?

group: Beleaguered General Of A Rebel Army/Her Much-Younger Female Aide

    • I'd love to see any setting for this. Perhaps it's a rebel army of a fictional world rebelling against a tyrant (is it a fictional fantasy world, and if so is there any magic involved? Is either the general or her aide a practitioner of magic?). Or maybe it's an IRL historical setting, maybe with OCs instead of real historical figures, or maybe just even real historical figures? (Perhaps a genderswapped-to-female version of historical figures?) Or an alternate history type thing set in our world?
    • Power dynamics! I'd love to see the aide kneeling to/bowing to the general, or kissing her general's hand.
    • Does the general ever take out her frustrations at the war effort on the aide, or loose her temper with her aide? Or does the aide ever misbehave and need to be punished?
    • Or maybe the aide isn't satisfied with her position and wants to rise to greater heights? (Or maybe the aide worked really hard to get where she is and is overawed and amazed by the general?) Or anything involving military tactics or strategy.
    • Perhaps the aftermath of a battle, where either the general or her aide has been injured, or one of them falling sick? Or one of them is captured and tortured?
    • Or the two of them working together late into the night, or the general discussing tactics with her aide and getting her unofficial advice, or venting at the aide? I'm just here for alll the competence porn.

Group: Female Archer/Female Charge She's Protecting

    • Whatever setting you'd like to write for this would be great—fantasy, historical fiction, or perhaps a futuristic world with a futuristic archer.
    • Do the charge and the archer fall for each other through forced proximity, or are they already in a relationship when the charge comes under the archer's protection? Or do they not hit off at first
    • Who is the charge (a princess? An informant with valuable information? An important politician?) and why does she have to be protected? (Who's after her?)
    • Do they manage to evade whoever is chasing them or do they caught in fights several times?
    • What sights do they see and what things do they do? Does the charge ever need to wear a disguise for Reasons?

    Group: Female Healer/Female Knight

    • Whatever setting you want to use is great—historical, fantasy (with or without magic/supernatural elements; urban, high fantasy etc. are all fine), in space etc.
    • I'm very interested in the dynamics of this pairing, because healer/knight. It's day and night as far as callings and occupations are concerned (a death-dealer and a life-saver, though both done in the name of protection); does this also translate to personalities? How do their careers affect their relationships?
    • Does the healer stay in the city/town when the knight rides out, and carry out her duties there, or is she a battle-healer? Or does the battle come to their home? Or maybe she's a captured enemy healer/the knight is a captured enemy knight? (And if the latter, slowly falling for each other and/or Stockholm Syndrome and/or instant attraction, oops!)
    • The two of them teaching each other, maybe, the healer teaching the knight medicine or the knight teaching the healer self-defence?

Group: Female Journalist/Female Public Relations Practitioner

    • So, how does the journalist meet the PR person? Through an event they both have to attend for professional reasons? Through a client the journalist is investigating? Or by complete accident at something not work related?
    • They both have very busy lives, probably, so how do they make time to see each other? Date nights, commitments, but maybe having to cancel because emergencies wait for no woman?
    • How do they manage to find a balance between their work, in which they're in complete opposition to each other and, by definition, each hinders the others' job, and their personal life and relationship?
    • Or are they working in different fields? Is the journalist perhaps a war reporter or otherwise involved in dangerous situations, or has the PR person been bodily threatened/injured as a part of her job?
    • Or is it a one-time hookup, or a hatesex thing they keep coming back to?
    • Do their colleagues/clients/bosses give them shit for hooking up with/dating the enemy?

Group: Female Soldier/Princess of Enemy Country

    • Is the soldier and/or the princess captured? How is the captive treated? Does the princess/soldier tend to her captive herself? Is she aware of the identity of the captive? Or maybe one of them is captured, escapes, and on a different occasion captures her captor?
    • Or does the soldier disguise herself, somehow, and infiltrate her enemy's court? (Is she discovered? Does she seduce the princess? Is the ruler of the enemy a tyrant or is it a more ambiguous war? Does one of them convert the other to her point of view?)
    • Or is the soldier part of a delegation trying to make peace with their enemy country, and that's how she meets the princess?
    • Or do the soldier and princess not recognize each other when they first meet?
    • Is the soldier a footsoldier or a higher-ranked person? Is the princess a distant relative of the king/queen or the daughter of the king/queen?

Group: Newly-Crowned Queen/Princess of Another Country

    • Is the princess' country an ally of the queens', so the princess attends the queen's coronation as an envoy? Or the princess is there for other diplomatic reasons?
    • Or has the princess been at court for some time as a part of a fostering exchange?
    • Or is the princess from an enemy country and somehow falls into the queen's hands?
    • I'd love to see the queen consolidating her power through political manoeuvring, if that's your thing, and the princess helping her or putting stumbling blocks in the way.
    • If that's your thing, again, an older, more experienced princess and a young queen who becomes more competent and self-assured over the course of the fic might be interesting.

group: Older Female Soldier/Younger Female Soldier

    • I love the formality of the military chain of command and I love competent, kick-ass characters and I love power dynamics. This is basically a combination of all those loves! And the setting can be historical (any period would be great!), fantasy, in spaaaaace, futuristic...wharecer you like.
    • I'd love junior officer/senior officer (senior officer/her XO would be great), junior officer/senior NCO, junior enlisted person/senior NCO etc. would all be great! And army, navy, air force (and marines) are all good.
    • Do the differences in rank worry them? Are there fraternization policies, and if there are, do they have to sneak around to not get caught? (Kissing/quickies in secluded areas, closets etc. would be great!) Do they caught, and what's the reaction to that?
    • The two of them in some dangerous situation together, or on a mission, or going out guns blazing, or just generally in battle. Or tactical meetings, or poring over maps/navigational programs and making plans, or navigating military politics. Or maybe having to face incompetency from command together, and/or leaning on each other to get through horrific situations
    • Or anything to do with power dynamics and the chain of command!
    • If you want to play with morality (soul-searching after following orders they knew were unlawful and/or morally wrong, killing civilians who get caught in the line of fire, experiencing something horrific and doing something horrific as a result) that'd also be great.

group: Presidential Candidate/Her Most Trusted Female Advisor

    • I don't mind whatever country you choose to have the presidential candidate running for office in, as long as the president isn't just a figurehead. (Heck, a president in spaaaace or a president of a fantasy country would be great too.)
    • If loyalty kink is yout thing I'd love lots of loyalty please, both sexual and non-sexual.
    • I'd love to see the two of them campaigning together, and also winding down after a long exhausting day campaigning.
    • I'd also love to see them preparing for a debate/speech or scoping an opponent's campaign or going through briefs or...
    • Politics and policymaking would be lovely!

Group: Princess Entering An Arranged Marriage/Her Princess Bride

    • How does the marriage come about being arranged? Is it a traditional custom to arrange the marriage of a princess to a princess of a neighbouring country? Or is it to consolidate a treaty/alliance? Or is the marriage made to stop a war?
    • Or is the princess bride supposed to be a prince groom and looks like one, but the princess entering an arranged marriage discovers that her groom is a bride? (By happy coincidence because she doesn't want to marry a man.)
    • Do the princess and her bride get caught up in some adventure in search of a missing item/neighbouring country's prince/ship?
    • Are the princess and her bride from a (pseudo-)historical setting, or from spaaaaace, or from a fantasy setting, or from the future, or from a modern-ish world? Or are they from two different worlds and the marriage is an interdimensional peaceh offering?

Group: Princess Undercover as Commoner/Female Outlaw

    • For what reason is the princess undercover? For her safety while travelling? Because she's trying to run away from her castle and there's a bounty on her head because of that? Because someone's threatening her life? To draw out a gang of outlaws?
    • How does the outlaw come upon her? During a robbery? In a pub? The princess trying to join the outlaw's band? Or the outlaw trying to romance the princess/commoner?
    • Is the identity of the princess discovered or not? If so, is she given more...creative treatment, or is she unharmed and used for ransom?
    • Is there Stockholm Syndrome involved, or is it the princess falling uncoerced, if reluctantly, for the outlaw?
    • I'd love the princess being manhadled and pushed and pulled around roughly by the outlaw (and tied up? Gagged and/or blindfolded?) if that's your thing, or the princess turning the tables on her.

    Queen/Her Younger Female Knight

    • Loyalty! I would love anything to do with loyalty and/or politics, please.
    • The knight kneeling and/or kissing her queen's hand, or otherwise pledging her loyalty. Or the queen awarding the knight some honour, or watching her ride off to battle, or receiving her as she returns bruised and bloodied from battle.
    • Or maybe the knight gets captured and tortured, and H/C from that?
    • Or, is the knight the Queen's silent assassin/her right hand in the dark, doing the Queen's bidding, spying and managing spies and silently getting rid of people she needs getting rid of and interrogating prisoners and otherwise doing horrible things in the name of the Queen?
    • Or the knight ascending from squire to knight, and the beginning of their relationship?

group: Regency Romantic Heroine/Regency Romantic Heroine

    • The two of them dancing together, or kissing in the gardens, or the one of them showing the other her lands, or in bed together, or hosting company, or reading/playing cards in the evening, accidental first meetings.
    • Just everything typical of a Regency romance here would be lovely, whatever you define that as, formal manners and elaborate courtship and interpersonal drama.
    • Maybe repression and/or internalized homophobia (and classism) if that's your thing, and angst about that?
    • Or an arranged marriage between the two ladies? Or a lady is looking for a companion? Or a lady becomes the patron of a gentlewoman artist/writer? Or a women accidentally falls for the Regency Romantic Hero's sister instead of falling for the hero?
    • Any scenario you can think of would be lovely, honestly. And a Regency romance in space would be great, too.

Group: Superheroine Princess/Female Genius Head of Technology

    • Alllll the tech person/hero tropes, please!
    • How did the head of techinology come to work under (:D) the princess? Were they lovers first or did they become lovers after the head of technology became part of the princess' staff?
    • Do her people know about the princess' superhero ways or is it a secret identity? If it's a secret identity, how is it concealed from the people of the princess' country and how does the princess feel about the deception?
    • How does the tech head deal with the princess' very dangerous lifestyle and how her life is in constant danger? Do they have fights about their jobs?
    • How does the princess balance her duties as a princess and her duties as a superheroine?
    • Is there 'horray we saved the world' sex? Does the genius delight in making ever more complicated sex toys?

AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Character Development, Fix-it fic, Getting Together, Interpersonal Drama, Slice of Life, Worldbuilding, Established Relationship

Delderton and Bergania are both my favourite things, and I love the atmosphere of both places. I love Delderton for its quirkiness and its unusualness, and I love the grand, sweeping majesty of Bergania. And I love how much hope there is in both places, if that makes sense? Partly, of course, because we see things through Tally's eyes a lot and Tally is very much a hopeful person, but the descriptions of Delderton and Bergania are a lot more rich and vivid than, for example, of London (and I love the contrast).

AU ideas: maybe Matteo manages to unravel the assassination plot before it occurs, or the shot goes wild and misses Johannes (maybe Stilton is less competent than in canon), and the children get to meet the King? Maybe grown-up Tally and Julia visit Bergania after the war when its people are voting for their first President, and meet the former King? Maybe the German army invades Bergania, and Johannes has to flee with the aid of the children and of his people? Maybe Johannes sets up a government-in-exile in London, and when he goes down to Delderton to visit Karil and Matteo, Tally talks to him (and drags Julia along)?

    group: Julia Grantley/Talitha "Tally" Hamilton

I love all the hurt/comfort between these two in canon and I'd love to see more. Maybe Tally becomes homesick and Julia comforts her, or maybe Julia loses an audition for a role? Or anything heavier would be fine, too. I'd just love all the H/C, please.

Tally doesn't like Golria Grantley at all (although she doesn't say this out loud for Julia's sake); what does she think of the fact that Golria is kind of sort of reaching out towards her daughter at the end of the book? (She's a very good judge of character; how does that factor into it?)

Maybe something about Julia's career as an actress? She probably didn't get roles fresh out of acting school and was probably rejected at auditions—how does she face these rejections, and does Tally's support help? Does she move to a place with a robust film industry? And does Tally follow her, or do they correspond from a distance? Does she go for stage acting, or does she become a movie star like her mother? And I love the play in the book, and the scene where Julia recites a poem in memory of Johannes, so I'd love to see more of that.

And what does Tally do with her Classics degree? Does she go on do postgraduate work and perhaps become a professor? Does she decide to teach, perhaps come back to Delderton? If you go for the femslash option, does the fact that she and Julia are far away from each other and in pursuit of their own careers become an issue?

The years Julia is at acting school and Tally is at Oxford! Do they write letters to each other? (And if so, I'd love to see those letters.) Do they get together with each other, and with the other Delderton students, in the holidays?

Tally was in London during the school holidays at Delderton, helping to clean up after the bombings during the Blitz—was Julia there, too? Were they involved in the rescue efforts? Had they ever been caught outside in an air raid?

I love friends to lovers, and I'd love to see the growth of Tally's and Julia's relationship into something romantic. Do they grow together slowly? Is there a sudden moment of realization? Do they get together when they're still in school, or afterwards (perhaps during the visit to Bergania)?

group: Matteo von Tarlenheim/Johannes of Bergania

I love the tragedy of how they meet again after so many years, but were torn apart mere minutes later. Matteo avoiding Johannes (and all that lost time—did he have regrets, later, after Johannes death?), but Johannes seeing him anyway, how dramatic Johannes was in dragging Matteo out of the crowd, their embrace (like there was no-one else there now that is a shippy moment if I ever saw one), the words they spoke to each other (and I am burningly curious as to what those were), Johannes looking the way he hadn't looked after his wife had died, the friend Johannes loved as a boy, Matteo's 'No!', 'everything' (everything), Matteo's promise, 'the man he had loved beyond all others', Matteo on his knees, just—everything. Everything about that scene. And later—everything about the dragonfly pool scene, too, Matteo's memories and how Karil saw that his father wanted to be with Matteo.

And after—I'd love to see Matteo grieving and trying to deal with Johannes' death. We know that Matteo talked to Magda a lot about Johannes—maybe one of those conversations? And Karil—how does Matteo see him, entangled as Karil must be in Matteo's feelings about Johannes? And Matteo maybe finding a lover during/after the war, but everything about that lover reminds him of Johannes, or nothing does, and everything is messy and terrible?

And I very much wouldn't mind seeing a canon divergence AU where Johannes wasn't killed (not shot? Shot, but not fatally?), and they do get to have sex speak to each other later. How do they sort out all the painful things that must lie between them? Do they go back to their individual lives, or do they find a way to stay with each other? What would happen to their relationship during WW2, what with Matteo's work as an intelligence agent (although would that happen if Johannes hadn't died) and Johannes being King?

Or maybe something about their childhoods—I'd love to see Matteo and Johannes doing everything together, maybe including fumbling together as boys? Or the two of them at university, discovering that their care for each other extended beyond friendship? Or dealing with the fact that they can't be together fully, because Johannes is going to have marry (and maybe him actually falling for his wife feels like betrayal to Johannes, and it's very complicated there)? Or Johannes becoming 'cut off', and Matteo's feelings of betrayal at the pamphlet incident and him leaving? Or Johannes' feelings on Matteo leaving, and the two of them learning to live without each other? All the politics and/or angst, really, and the two of them figuring out their relationship together.

Action/Adventure, Angst, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Character Development, Darkfic, Established Relationship, Fix-it fic, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Interpersonal Drama, Slice of Life, Smut, Worldbuilding

    • There aren't enough fics based on the Myths Transformed version of Middle-earth, and if that's something you'd like to explore, I'd love that, especially a more scientifically accurate (and sometimes, to my mind, a more tragic-and-dark-but-beautiful) vision of Middle-earth. (Other versions would also be wonderful, of course! This is just a specific thing I don't see much of.)
    • I love the fact that Tolkien's canon is a patchwork of different stories and mythologies, both in the Doylist and Watsonian sense, and fic exploring that would be wonderful.
    • Linked with the points above, I'm interested in lived vs. written stories, and Those Pesky Historians, and how unseen forces affect history.
    • Nature that comes alive.
    • The mortals and Elves/free will and destiny debate and the role of the Valar would be a wonderful thing to read about—I'd love exploration of any of the philosophical questions of Tolkien's world, really, but especially this, as detailed in the Athrabeth and writings about the role of the Valar.
    • All things Darkness and Light, really—I'm very fascinated by how these polar opposites work in Tolkien's world (and you can go back right to the beginning, to the Music, if you like), and how Arda is both grim and uplifting at the same time.
    • I love the way magic and power operate in Tolkien's world—the work he's done to make it believable is wonderful. Writing a green sun, indeed! Anything you can write about this would be welcome and much-adored.
    • I especially love the Ñoldor and Númenor, although every Age of Middle-earth holds my heart.
    • For interspecies relationships, I'd love to see an emphasis on otherness and trying to understand each other.

    group: Arwen/Gilraen

Oooh, I love this for its awkward connotations. A gentle fic, if portraying their relationship, but I'd also love a look at the awkwardness that would result—"Aragorn, I've already met your Mother. In fact, I've gone down on her too many times to count". A relationship not based on love, but mutual loss and comfort, staving away loneliness, would also be something I'd love explored (although I'd love to see them madly in love with each other, too). I'd also love bonding, and discussions/portrayals of mortality and immortality.

What does Arwen's mother-in-law think about her? Surely they must have spent time together in Rivendell, possibly in the years before Arwen was betrothed, but after Aragorn had gone away. Did Aragorn's youthful crush result in mutual embarrassment? Or did they laugh over it? And I'd love advice, given and received, and also Elven vs. human perceptions of passing time.

Arwen/Gilraen in the window of time between Aragorn going away and their betrothal would be lovely. Or maybe Arwen comforting Gilraen after Arathorn's death? Or an AU where Arwen doesn't become betrothed to Aragorn (and what that would change, maybe)?

Or maybe something to do with Arwen's Half-Elven heritage, or maybe her name, something about the Evenstar? Or Gilraen combing Arwen's hair, or the two of them out riding together?

group: Goldberry/Lady of the Blue Brooch

There are so many lovely fics for this pairing, but I still want more! For those of you who don't know, the Lady of the Blue Brooch was a woman, presumably a noble of Cardolan, and her brooch found its way into the tomb of the last prince of Cardolan. And, of course, Goldberry (and Tom) knew her.

From there, I'd love whatever your take on this would be! Was she fleeing from something when she met Goldberry? Wandered away from a travelling party and got lost? How did she die? In her life, who was she? A princess? A lady? A warrior? Someone else entirely?

And since she's probably a noble from Cardolan, maybe something about the last days of Cardolan, or something about the politics and the wars of Arnor?

I'd love to see Goldberry's meeting with her, maybe by the Withywindle, or did Goldberry wander into her somewhere in Arnor? Or maybe something about the two of them in Goldberry's house? Or something bittersweet or angsty about how she leaves? (And how did her brooch find its way to that barrow?)

Or something creepier, maybe, with her being a barrow-wight, or Goldberry trying to bring her back from death, or Goldberry casting an enchantment over her to make her stay?

    Lady of the Blue Brooch

For those of you who don't know, the Lady of the Blue Brooch was a woman, very likely a noble of Cardolan, and her brooch found its way into the tomb of the last prince of Cardolan. And, of course, Goldberry (and Tom) knew her, and she was apparently very beautiful.

From there, I'd love whatever your take on this would be—was she fleeing from something? Wandered away from a travelling party and got lost? How did she die? In her life, who was she? A princess? A lady? A warrior? Someone else entirely? (Goldberry/Lady of the Blue Brooch(/Tom) shenanigans is my usual 'ship, but convince me to try other things! Go wild!)

I'd love to see Goldberry's meeting with her, maybe by the Withywindle, or did Goldberry wander into her somewhere in Arnor? Or maybe something about the two of them in Goldberry's house? Or something bittersweet or angsty about how she leaves? Or something creepier, maybe, with her being a barrow-wight, or Goldberry trying to bring her back from death, or Goldberry casting an enchantment over her to make her stay? Or maybe adding Tom to the mix—how would that work?

Or maybe a ruler-under-the-hill type thing, in the style of King Arthur? Maybe the Lady of the Blue Brooch lies in her barrow and will wake again, maybe Goldberry is guarding an ancient ruler in his/her barrow, and the lady is one of the ruler's knights/ladies-in-waiting/servants?

Or maybe something about the last prince of Cardolan? How did the lady of the blue brooch know him? Was she a noblewoman of Cardolan? Was she his sister, or another relative? Or was she his wife? Or did she work for him? Or was she one of his generals, or a soldier in his army (perhaps disguised as a man, perhaps written out of history later)? Or maybe the last prince of Cardolan was actually the last princess of Cardolan (who was the lady of the blue brooch or the lady's lover or friend, or perhaps the lady of the blue brooch was her knight) and she was written out of history later by historians convinced that she couldn't possibly be a woman? (Whoever she was, whoever you choose to make her, she was probably important to him, for her jewellery to find its way into his barrow.) And maybe something about the alliance of Arthedain and Cardolan—what role did the lady of the blue brooch play there? Did she witness it, or was she somewhere else?

Or maybe more about the brooch? It's in the shape of a butterfly—is there any symbolism there? What emotional significance does it have? Who was its maker? How did the lady of the blue brooch come to wear the brooch? (Did she even wear it more than the time(s) she saw Goldberry?) Is it a heirloom? Was it a gift? Was she the maker herself? And how did the brooch find its way to that barrow? Was the lady laid to rest there? Or did she gift the brooch to someone else, who was laid to rest there? Or was it snatched from her? I'm just very, very, curious about it, and about what it looks like and the history behind it.

    Malbeth the Seer

I know that Malbeth's gender isn't stated in canon, but I usually prefer female Malbeth (and, as far as I know, Malbeth being a woman is much more likely in linguistic terms, and also because the women of the Dúnedain were more likely to be Seers (does that have anything to do with Melian?)), so that's what I'm going with here. If you have an idea for male Malbeth, though, I'll also love that! (And, in fact, I've specifically included a couple of prompts for a male Malbeth at the end of this section.)

Foresight and its mixed blessings! I imagine that Malbeth would have led a dark, if not completely unhappy life, being blessed/cursed as she was with foresight so deep into the future and the knowledge of the downfall of the Dúnedain and the rise of Sauron (and his eventual defeat, but that wouldn't have been much of a comfort against the horror). I found the bits about the mixed blessings and curses of foresight in the Appendices interesting, so more on that, maybe?

Or maybe, court politics and the role of seers in Dúnedain society? Is foresight revered, or feared, or ridiculed, or a mixture of all three? Malbeth's predictions were eerily specific, in a way a lot of the foresight in Tolkien's work isn't; more on that, maybe? Was that because the Ainur blood in Malbeth ran particularly strong/she was very attuned to the Music?

If Malbeth has a (female) lover, who was she? Was her lover a noble? Or was she an ordinary Dúnedan? Or was she not a Dúnedan at all—perhaps an Elf (who maybe understood Malbeth more than her fellow mortals, but there's also the divide between mortality and immortality)?

Whoever Malbeth's lover was, unless she was a fellow Seer which would be wonderful, for 'when shall we three meet again' shenanigans, there must have been some sort of conflict or tension between them because of Malbeth's (probably eerie) visions. Or was Malbeth not-quite-believed by anyone except her lover?

Or maybe something eerie to do with Malbeth's visions? Or maybe Malbeth encountering the Witch-King (perhaps in her visions), or seeing the rise of Sauron in the future? Or Malbeth's spirit refusing to leave Middle-earth?

Or Malbeth and Fíriel of Gondor (gen or shippy): did Malbeth get to know Fíriel after she came to Arnor? (Was Malbeth perhaps part of Fíriel's household? Or did she have a position in court?) Maybe Malbeth welcoming Fíriel to Arnor? Or maybe something about Malbeth's foresight? Or maybe something about the later days of their lives?

If you prefer to write Malbeth as a man, Arvedui/Malbeth, maybe? I'd be interested in seeing how the dynamics of this play out, since Arvedui is probably more concerned with his people and here and now, whereas Malbeth is probably more focused on the long game, given his foresight, which would probably create a conflict of loyalties. Or maybe, for male Malbeth, specifically, Malbeth/Witch-King noncon? (Or if you don't mind writing/drawing a female version of the Witch King, I'd also be down with female Malbeth/female Witch-King noncon!)

    Shieldmaiden(s) of Rohan

I'm using 'shieldmaiden' very loosely, here, and 'Rohan' even more loosely, but. You can interpret LotR as saying that women of Rohan have fought alongside men on several occasions. There's kind of a reference to the people of Gondor seeing women of Rohan being warriors, or at least both men and women being called 'valiant', and the Appendices talk about fair and valiant' women alongside 'lords and warriors' in songs the Rohirrim had about the North and about their people before Eorl (this is where 'Rohan' being a very loose descriptor comes in). Also, HoME mentions that, in the time of Brego, women of Rohan did ride out. Also, the fact that Éowyn uses the word 'shieldmaiden' multiple times, as do other people, implies the existence in itself of women who must have been 'shieldmaiden' for the mere fact that the concept must exist for the word to exist.

So, tell me more about these shieldmaidens of Rohan. Did they only ride out in desperate times, or were there some women who took up being a warrior as a lifetime's pursuit? If they only rode out in desperate times, what were those desperate times like? What horrors necessitated women riding out? Or, if there were some women who were warriors their entire life, what was their lifestyle like? Were they lone warriors, or did they march with an army or a group of others? Did they take orders from the King of the Mark, or were they perhaps under the Queen's purview? Or were they outlaws who nevertheless wandered the borders of the Mark and protected its people?

It sounds like female warriors were most common before Eorl rode out from the North and in the early days of Rohan, and I'd love to know more about these time periods—whatever worldbuilding you choose to do would be very, very interesting to me. And, how exactly does one become one of these warriors? Is there formal training or an apprenticeship, or do you have to learn yourself? I imagine that it must have been a lot more difficult for women than for men—something on that, maybe?

What stories and songs were there about these shieldmaidens? Did girls like Éowyn dream of becoming shieldmaidens? (Or, if you've ever wanted to try your hand at alliterative verse, here's your chance—maybe a bit of an epic about one of the 'fair and valiant' women of old?)

I imagine that any full-time shieldmaidens probably wouldn't have been married in the traditional sense, but did any of them have sweethearts, men or women, back home? Did they long for their lovers when they were riding out? Or maybe shieldmaidens finding comfort in each other (or in their fellow male warriors) on the field, maybe? Or maybe a shieldmaiden falling for one of her enemies, and being forced to fight said enemy because her duty must be placed above love? Or warriors who are also lovers fighting side-by-side?

I love the descriptions of the Rohirrim and Rohan in Two Towers and RotK, and anything based on those would be lovely. Or maybe something incorporating 'where now are the horse and the rider'? I'd love to see a shieldmaiden riding out in full armour, or a shieldmaiden after a battle, bloodied and bruised. Or perhaps one of these warriors training, or in a fight? Or maybe two warriors sharing a tent and huddling up next to each other, maybe trading kisses? Or maybe a tapestry depicting a well-loved story of a shieldmaiden, or a young girl who dreams of being a shieldmaiden when she's grown-up playing with a wooden sword?

    The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth – J. R. R. Tolkien

    Navigation

    • For interspecies relationships, I'd love to see an emphasis on otherness and trying to understand each other.

    group: Ilmarë/Thuringwethil

This ship interests me for the light vs. dark dichotomy. An origin story, perhaps, on the fall of Thuringwethil? Or maybe what happened to Thuringwethil after the War of Wrath? I'd love to see the contrast between the two of them, and maybe something to do with the Ainur and their role in the Music?

And this 'ship is ripe for all the angst and tragedy. Maybe something about Thuringwethil's fall? (And how it came about, and its causes, and maybe late redemption if you want to go in that direction, or dark/tragedic angst if you don't?) Or maybe if you choose to go with something about Thuringwethil and Ilmarë after the War of Wrath, there must be a lot of betrayal and anger lying in both of them—something about that?

Was Thuringwethil a Maia of Varda or Estë before she fell, perhaps? Or was she one of those seduced by Melkor in the beginning, with the Music, and she and Ilmarë always has a foeyay thing going on? Or was she an embodiment of necessary darkness created to stand against Melkor but corrupted by him? Or was she a Maia of Sauron who went over to Melkor when he did?

I would also very much not mind this going in the fucked-up dubcon or noncon direction, whether that be because one of them is the other's prisoner, or because one of them manipulates the other emotionally (for her own good, of course, or so the manipulator things), or because of any other scenario.

    group: Lalaith/Niënor

Sistercest! This would, out of necessity, have to be an AU where Lalaith doesn't die. Maybe Lalaith and Niënor sustaining each other through difficult times? Maybe instead of Túrin, Lalaith is the one who's cursed? Codependent fucked-up siblings, please! And for art (and fic), something focusing on how they're the antithesis of each other?

What would happen if Túrin died, not Lalaith? I'd imagine a lot of the events would go the same, but would Húrin not having a male heir affect canon events much? Would Lalaith stay with her mother and sister, or would she be smuggled out like Túrin was? And would Doriath and the outlaws happen just the same, and would Lalaith still be the Blacksword, or would something different happen? Would Lalaith's and Niënor's meeting go the same? And what effect would Niënor not being pregnant have on the final events? Would they go the same, or differently? (And would she even want to be called Lalaith after her brother's death?)

Or an AU where Lalaith doesn't die and Túrin also lives—again, would Lalaith go to Doriath or stay with Morwen? Would Niënor and her become codependent because of the situation they're in if she stayed, or would they fight all the time? If Lalaith goes to Doriath with her brother, would Niënor stumble upon Lalaith instead of Túrin?

    Aredhel

    I 'ship Aredhel/Haleth, Aredhel/Vána, Aredhel/Lúthien, Aredhel/Goldberry (see Goldberry in the LotR section), Aredhel/Galadriel, non-romantic (i.e. friends-with-benefits and no-strings-attached) Aredhel/Elenwë, and I'm going to add Aredhel/OFC, because while I love all OFC-related 'ships, Aredhel/OFC specifically is a Thing for me.

I'd love to see Aredhel in either Valinor or Middle-earth (I don't mind which), a wild-child who goes where her heart wills, bright and beautiful and yearning to be free. And if you want something more specific: Aredhel with her friends, Aredhel with her siblings and/or parents, Aredhel and Idril, Aredhel as a princess of the Noldor, Aredhel as a warrior, hunting and riding and exploring (both in Valinor and Middle-earth), Aredhel on the Ice, urging her people on.

Aredhel bantering with her (female) friends, maybe, or trying (and failing) to navigate Gondolin and its complexities, but making a few friends along the way? I'd love to see snark and banter and laughter, and mainly just Aredhel having fun! (Although angst, of course, is also much-appreciated.)

Gen or shippy Aredhel and Galadriel: Aredhel and Galadriel were the only second-generation Finwions who were female, and I'd love an exploration of that. Did they like each other or despise each other and have hatesex? Maybe they hunted together, and those hunting trips turned into more? Or the two of them on the Ice, finding comfort in each other? Or maybe Aredhel was aiming to go to Doriath, not to visit Celegorm? So many possibilities! Or maybe Aredhel and Galadriel's mutual indifference to each other, and annoyance at being pushed together at family gatherings because they're girls, and of course they have a lot of things in common. This usually Ends Very Badly, possibly, or maybe just Aredhel and Galadriel being snarky at each other and the world in general, with bonus kissing and casual sex. Or maybe huddling for warmth during the crossing of the Ice? (And just sex, or the two of them falling for each other there). And maybe something about leading their people across the Ice, and the two of them being leaders in general (or leaders and generals, that would very much work too!)?

When I think of Aredhel, I think of freedom and joy, and I'm not sure how to translate that into an art prompt—but anything about Aredhel, freedom, and joy. Or, if you want a specific situation, I'd love to see Aredhel laughing with friends or family, or Aredhel dancing in the rain, or Aredhel dancing, period.

What was the relationship between Fingolfin and Aredhel like, and how did it change over time? She was his only daughter, so something about that, maybe? Maybe the two of them in Valinor, or on the Ice? Or Aredhel in Beleriand during the Long Peace, maybe, visiting her father or riding out with him? Or maybe Aredhel and Fingolfin saying goodbye to each other before Aredhel leaves for Gondolin?

Why did Aredhel go to Gondolin? Maybe Turgon and Aredhel spending time together in Gondolin? Or maybe something about how Aredhel convinced Turgon to let her leave Gondolin for a while? Alternately, maybe the two of them in Valinor or on the Ice?

I would love to see Aredhel and Fingon with each other, perhaps training together or riding together or hunting together or camping or bantering with each other. The two of them in Valinor, perhaps, maybe dealing with the upheavals that must have come with Fëanor's exile? Leading their people on the Helcaraxë? Spending time together in Beleriand? Maybe communicating with each other in some way after Fingolfin's death?

I'd love Aredhel and Írimë laughing and bantering together in Valinor! Or, if you're in the mood for something darker, them during the Kinslaying (with bloodstained clothes or swords if you're an artist?). Or maybe something in Middle-earth, Aredhel saying goodbye to her aunt before leaving for Gondolin?

    Indis

Indis as a princess of the Vanyar and as the Queen of the Ñoldor, Indis with her children and with Fëanor's children, Indis attempting to reach out to Fëanor (and maybe initially succeeding?), Indis and friends.

I'm always interested in fic which explores Indis' role amongst the Ñoldor and the Vanyar. Or maybe something to do with her thoughts on being Finwë's second wife, in a society where that's usually taboo? Or Indis reaching out to her children and Fëanor's children, and maybe dark-ish family fic intertwined with politics? Or how Indis reacts to the fact that Finwë and Fëanor have 'a double bond of love' and her children will always be second-best to their father? Or Indis and Nerdanel in the house of Indis after Fëanor's Exile, or later, after the Darkening and the Doom, helping each other to cope. Also Indis and Fingon doing things (family fluff, politics, whatever rocks your boat), because I imagine them to be very fond of each other (and maybe Maedhros joins them occasionally, but also very guiltily, because she's his step-grandmother and his sort-of-husband's grandmother, but his father hates her?).

What sort of relationship do Indis and Fingolfin have? Is it strained, or are they close? I'd love to see them at a difficult moment—when things are getting tense in Tirion, perhaps, or just after swords being drawn in the Court or after Fëanor's sentence has been pronounced, or even after the Darkening. (Please no completely uncaring, indifferent versions of either Indis or Fingolfin!)

(Shippy or gen for this.) We don't know whether Indis was born on Valinor or not (and if you consider HoME, it's very likely that she was not) so maybe she met Goldberry during the march from Cuiviénen? Or maybe an AU where Indis doesn't stay in Valinor? What little we know of Indis' personality seems to indicate that she's a joyful person, so she and Goldberry would probably get along very well. Or is your characterization of Indis very different, and if so, how well does she mesh with Goldberry?

Or Indis and Míriel, maybe, gen or shippy? I'd love to see them meeting after Míriel is released from the Halls—what do they make of each other? Do they bond with each other, or do they end up disliking each other? Or it'd be interesting if Indis knew Míriel before her death, somehow. )(And I'm not averse to Míriel/Finwë/Indis, either!)

Indis and Nerdanel in the house of Indis after Fëanor's Exile, or later, after the Darkening and the Doom, helping each other to cope, please? I just want all the angst and Doom. I'd love to see Indis and Nerdanel, something passionate and intense—kissing, maybe, or even just talking to each other. Or I'd love to see Indis as the Queen of the Ñoldor (whether as Finwë's wife or in her own right in an AU)—loyalty kink, anyone? Or maybe something less smutty, dealing with the politics of the situation, maybe.

I am fascinated by the Ñoldor who remained in Aman after Fëanor and Fingolfin left. How did they attempt to bridge ties with the other Elves (especially the Teleri)? What were Indis' and Nerdanel's reactions to the Kinslaying? What were other people's reactions to the fact that their relations (and especially children) are Kinslayers? Or, what sort of role did they play in the reorganization of Tirion and in all the work that must have been necessary post-Darkening?

Or I'd love to see Indis as the Queen of the Ñoldor. And the image of Indis as Finwë first saw her, singing and gloriously beautiful in the golden light has always captured my imagination, so if you want to explore Vanyar culture and use that as a jumping point I'd also love that. (Or Vanyar worldbuilding in general.)

    Tar-Ancalimë

Tar-Ancalimë is one of those characters we actually got more than one line about from Tolkien and who was decently fleshed out, and yet I wish we'd gotten more because I love her very much and she's such a great character.

I love how headstrong and decided she is, and how she's shaped by both her parents' stubbornness into the person she is in canon, and how she can be extremely myopic at times and uncompromising to the point of ridiculousness. (Also, I love how it's strongly implied that she totally went all-out bling in canon just to spite Erendis, because that is my type of person). Maybe something about her childhood? Her parents were at odds with each other very much, and Aldarion was away for a long time, and Erendis was kind of distant, so maybe something about that? Or, there must have been happy moments too, playing with her peers or a joyful moment with her parents? Or maybe a moment with her grandparents, since Almarian doted on Ancalimë and Meneldur probably would have, too, so that would probably be a happy memory? And Ancalimë's relationship with her parents in general is very interesting to me, because it's all kinds of messed up and both Erendis and Aldarion projecting all over her, resulting in quite a mess.

I'm also very interested in Tar-Ancalimë's relationship with her granddaughters, since it's implied that she's the reason they gave up the throne. Did she regret not really caring about Tar-Anárion, and go too far in the other direction? Is she just extremely protective to the point of being unhealthily controlling for different reasons? Or maybe she sees them as her heirs, and is very possessive because of that? Or if you want to go really dark, Tar-Ancalimë marrying both of them off to husband she knows won't let them become queen? Or the last three applied to Tar-Anárion, perhaps, or Tar-Anárion being extremely controlling of his daughters because of his less-than-ideal childhood? Or even darker, Tar-Ancalimë/her granddaughters noncon, and the granddaughters escaping Tar-Ancalimë because of that?

Tar-Ancalimë/Hallacar is also such a glorious mess, because it has all the trappings of a love story, but it kind of goes up in flames because they're really, really not suited to each other. Something about that, maybe? Or maybe Tar-Ancalimë/Nessanië? (Nessanië was Hallacar's sister.) Go as sweet or as fucked-up as you want for this! Maybe the two of them falling for each other, or a quiet moment at Emerië or in the palace? Or Tar-Ancalimë manipulating Nessanië to hurt Hallacar?

Or something about her handmaidens? Aside from the whole marriage debacle, how loyal were they to her? Were there rituals to go with being one of Ancalimë's handmaidens (and are there chastity belts involved)? Did one of them fall for her, or vice versa?

And part of Ancalimë's tragedy is that she was raised to be fiercely independent in a misogynistic society (and I imagine Erendis was very much a shaping influence in her view of men, and the 'do not bend, Ancalimë' speech pretty much makes it canon), and while she didn't bend, that means that she was always, always fighting, and she didn't really fit into the man's world that Númenor was. (I'm pretty sure Tolkien didn't intend to write that story, but that was the story I saw.) I know that's a pretty heavy topic and probably v. difficult to deal with, but I'd love even hints of that.

Or maybe Ancalimë navigating Númenorean politics, and discharging her duites as queen? Maybe something about the Council, or her advisors, or maybe something from the point of view of a noblewoman or one of her handmaidens?

There's just so much to explore with Ancalimë's life, and I'll love whatever you choose to write/draw about her!

    Tar-Míriel

Femslash 'ships, please? Maybe Tar-Míriel/Uinen, Tar-Míriel/Elendil's wife, Tar-Míriel/Isildur's wife, or an OFC. Or Éowyn/Míriel Witch-King 'verse, For gen, Tar-Míriel as the Witch-King of Angmar! Tar-Míriel with her father, Tar-Míriel as a ruler.

I'd love to see Tar-Míriel aiding and abetting the Faithful despite her husband. Alternately, I'd also love a gloriously unrepentant Ar-Zimraphel ruling alongside Ar-Pharazôn—just lots of politics with maybe a dash of femslash thrown in, please.

For femslash, I want Tar-Míriel to have a slice of happiness before—or after—everything goes wrong. Make the setting and plot as dark as you like—the darker the better—but the relationship itself I'd prefer if it were more gentle, and loving. And, of course, Tar-Míriel as the Witch King is welcome!

Tar-Míriel as the Witch-King would be lovely, wild and dangerous and terrible and dark, and, of course, all the femslash pairings for that. I'm here for all the angst and darkness, and if you want to go in the non/dubcon direction also all the noncon/dubcon.

For the Witch-King/Éowyn (or Éowyn and the Witch-King, I don't mind either way): I am just very, very on board with the Tar-Míriel is the Witch King theory and I'd like darkfic about that. Canon divergence, of course, is fine, but so is canon 'verse gapfilling. I just want anger and tragedy and angst and all the yummy darkness. Make it as messed-up as you like—rape/non-con/dubcon are all fine for this fic. I just want a really, really fucked up dynamic, whether shippy or otherwise

Or maybe Uinen took Tar-Míriel in after she 'drowned'? I'd love to see Tar-Míriel in Uinen's realm! Or maybe Tar-Míriel finding comfort in Uinen during Ar-Pharazôn's rule?

There's also a version of Tar-Míriel's story where she aided Ar-Pharazôn willingly, because she loved him and because she agreed with him. I'd also be very, very interested in seeing anything about that. Maybe Tar-Míriel making sacrifices to Melkor or playing nice with Sauron? Or maybe her riding off to conquer Middle-earth with her husband in an AU? (And maybe Elendil tries to convince her to aid the Faithful, but fails?)

Elendil's wife and Tar-Míriel: Tar-Míriel aiding and abetting the Faithful! Meeting up with Elendil all the time is risky, but an old friend of the Queen's visiting and the two of them wanting privacy to talk together won't garner much attention...

Tar-Miriel/OFC? Maybe Tar-Míriel finding comfort in one of her handmaidens (or one of the palace staff)? Is the handmaiden of the Faithful (perhaps planted there by Elendil to help Tar-Míriel pass messages out of the palace?), is she a spy for Pharazôn who manipulates Míriel (and maybe perhaps eventually falls for her—or not, there's lots of room for fucked-up-ness either way, or enemies-to-lovers or fluff and comfort in dark times), or is she indifferent to the current political situation? Or maybe the OFC is a noble, either one of the Faithful (either in Exile, or someone who's secretly Faithful), or loyal to Pharazôn? I could see Míriel/her lover being either dysfunctional or adorable, depending on which is your thing. Either way, I'd love to see them just spending time together and all the romance and angst.

And I'm pretty sure Númenorean politics around the time of the Fall of the Númenor can go to very dark places if you want, but it can also be a finding hope amidst the darkness thing. All the dark, desperate politics, please, with cloak-and-dagger manoeuvring and secret messages and desperate plotting and questionable deals, and all the dirty parts of politics upped to the amp, bribery and palm-greasing and nepotism and violence and just making the people who don't agree with you just disappear. I'm sure that the Faithful (and/or Míriel) must have done some not-so-savoury things in the service of a good cause, not only Pharazôn—maybe something about that? Or maybe all the people the staunchest of the Faithful thought were their allies suddenly aren't any more? Or Pharazôn suddenly cracks down on minor corruptions of politicians, but only among the Faithful? Or maybe something more hopeful, the Faithful finding ways to survive and to help each other, and even people who didn't have strong political convictions before helping the Faithful?

Or maybe something about Tar-Míriel's childhood, and Palantír? Míriel probably knew, growing up, that she was going to be Queen, so something about that? Or maybe something about her mother, who Palantír 'married late', maybe?

    Women of the Faithful

So, the group of people involved in this request is very, very broad. I've given prompts for some named characters (and there's a whole section on Tar-Míriel above) and some general prompts, but please don't feel like you have to stick to those prompts; I'll love whoever you choose to write/draw about, whether that's an OFC or a character we know exists!

(Basically the same prompt as for Tar-Míriel, but) I'm pretty sure Númenorean politics around the time of the Fall of the Númenor can go to very dark places if you want, but it can also be a finding hope amidst the darkness thing.

Lindórië was Inzilbêth(Tar-Palantir's mother)'s mother, was of the House of Lords of Andúnië, and one of the Faithful. Other than that, we know nothing about her. Maybe Lindórië/OFC, and maybe featuring a little bit on the political situation in Númenor? Tension, betrayal, secrets and lies—all of that is fine with me, as is implied/future/endgame Lindórië/Tar-Calmacil's descendant, as long as it's made clear that Lindórië does love the OFC (and is she of the Faithful? loyal to the King? doesn't care either way?). Or I'd love to see Lindórië passing on her beliefs to her daughter—does Inzilbêth remember her mother when she's teaching her older son? I'd like an exploration of the King's Men/Faithful schism, with a dash of politics! Or maybe something about Inzilbêth's marriage to Ar-Gimilzôr and how that came about?

I'd also love to know more about Elendil's wife and/or Isildur's wife. We know they must have existed, obviously, but beyond that there's absolutely nothing on them, so whatever you write/draw about them would be wonderful!

Or I'd love to see a noblewoman somehow aiding and abetting the Faithful, maybe even someone who's not of Andúnië but from a different part of Númenor. Maybe she uses her influence in court to take the heat off the publicly known Faithful? Maybe she smuggles messages to and from court once the Faithful have been banned from the city?

And I'd also love to see ordinary women of the Faithful (and maybe something about Fíriel from The Lost Road?), who kept to their faith of and knowledge of the Valar and Eru despite the massive repercussions they must have faced. What were their lives like?

And those of the Faithful who managed to escape with Elendil must have faced a complete uprooting of their life. Maybe something about building a new home? Or maybe that desperate race away from Númenor, leaving everything they know behind? Or the first steps they take in Middle-earth? Or maybe grieving the people they had to leave behind, because I don't think that every one of the Faithful got out of Númenor safely.

Or I'd love to see any of the rituals the Faithful must have kept up in secret, or the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. Art of anything the Faithful do that mark them as Faithful, whether that be prayer to Eru or telling stories, or reading forbidden books, would be interesting. For fic, it'd also be interesting to see what the stories the Faithful have about the First Age and earlier look like—are they basically accurate, or are there massive gaps? How does their faith in the Valar work in life, how is it practised?
